We're seeking a talented individual to join our team as a Procurement Category Manager with a focus on aluminum derived products in flexible pharmaceutical Packaging, responsible for driving sustainability, innovation and efficiency in the Consumer Health and Pharma divisions.
As our Category Lead, you'll be at the forefront of ensuring the delivery of high-quality products and services, all while keeping costs competitive. You'll take the lead in selecting and managing our suppliers, building strong relationships with key decision makers within the company, and identifying new opportunities for value creation. In short, you'll be an integral part of shaping the future of packaging at Bayer.

Scope (global, regional or local):
Global
Key Tasks:
You will develop and implement a category strategy that generates significant business value for our organization.
From analyzing market trends to identifying potential suppliers, you'll be at the forefront of our efforts to gain a competitive advantage and make better business decisions.
You'll also be responsible for ensuring that our procurement processes and systems are aligned with our overall strategy, while developing innovative pricing models to keep costs down.
You'll serve as the central point of contact for all procurement-related issues and work closely with key business partners to define joint target agreements and procurement projects.
You will build strong relationships with our partners and identifying new opportunities for innovation and process optimization.
You will be planning and conducting sourcing events or negotiating with suppliers to secure the best results for our company.
Key Working Relation:
Internal:

Reports to the VP Procurement, Global Procurement Category Management.
Research & Development, Supply Chain, Quality, Brand teams.
Procurement internal relationships with Global Business Services.
External:

Interface to the external provider for your own area of responsibility.
Category-specific industry associations.
Strategic key suppliers and selected base suppliers.
Qualification & Competencies:
Masters or equivalent degree in science, engineering or economics or related disciplines with relevant professional experience (approx. 3 - 5 years).
Strong stakeholder engagement skills combined with competence in the context of collaboration, influence and communication.
Able to work in global and virtual work environments and lead virtual teams (even without R-Line responsibilities).
Solid background and expertise in procurement and procurement processes and methodologies (e.g. category management and supplier management and procurement).
Change management and project management.
Understanding of finance and calculation models.
Strategic mindset.
Analytical decision-making.
High Result and solution orientation.
High proficiency level in English.
