If you are excited about microbiology and continuously improving methods for Live Active Bacteria, this is a great job opportunity where you can combine your science, support, and communication skills.

We are enhancing and streamlining processes in our QC labs by implementing advanced technologies to increase testing throughput and accuracy.
In this role, you will take ownership of these methods and provide direct support to our QC lab teams in both Europe and the US.

Welcome to the Live Active Bacteria optimization team
In this position, you will join the Proteins, LAB assay optimization & Contaminants (PLOC) department responsible for analytical method development, method optimization, and support to QC.

The department consists of 3 teams working with Live Active Bacteria, Enzyme Contaminants, and Chemistry and consists of 17 dedicated scientists and lab technicians.
The Live Active Bacteria optimization team consists of 4 engaged scientists, 1 lab technician, and 1 student helper.
Your workplace will be at site Bagsværd, Denmark, and you will report to the senior department manager.

In this role you'll make an impact by:

As a Senior Scientist, you will be responsible for the alignment of QC methods and processes across the sites, development of new ideas for QC optimization, and optimizing the methods.
This function covers all QC Testing laboratories for Live Active Bacteria in Novonesis.
In your daily work, you will have close collaboration with scientists and technicians in many areas of our organization.

Your primary tasks will include:

• Continuous improvement and optimization of methods for LAB
• Organizing and leading global Networks meetings for Global QC
• Transfer of methods to Global QC
• Automation of existing methods together with the automation team
• Identifying methods for optimization for Global QC together with local QC labs
• Supporting local QC laboratories with issues and questions
• Facilitating microbiological issues resolution and escalating information when required
• Interacting with stakeholders to ensure good methods and workflow to be implemented in QC

To succeed you must hold:

You are a skilled Senior Scientist with expert knowledge within food microbiology, and you hold an MSc degree or higher level of education within Microbiology, Food Science, or Biotechnology.

It is very important that you value and take an active part in building the team and defining our way of working.
You will be working with many different colleagues and stakeholders across the organization, so being a team player with good collaboration skills is crucial, along with having a proactive and self-driven attitude.

Further, you have the ability to work globally and think holistically, you are eager to try out new things, and you get motivated by challenges.
You are structured, process-oriented with a great overview, and you proactively focus on identifying opportunities and solutions.
Finally, you thrive in working independently.

Further to this you have;

• 5 - 10 years' experience within QC, preferably within food or the pharmaceutical industry
• Experience within automation in microbiological QC laboratories is an advantage
• Fluency in English, verbal and written.
  Danish is not a requirement as we work globally
• A technical background that enables you to understand the flow in a Microbiological QC laboratory
