Your role and responsibilities

ABB is looking for project managers who have solid technical competence and technical experience as a project engineer and/or from commissioning, preferably from the maritime industry or offshore, to our business area Marine Service, Modernization.
ABB Marine delivers electric propulsion, power and automation systems for safe, efficient and environmentally friendly operation of various vessels within the offshore, wind, passenger ferry and aquaculture segments.
We in Modernization work to upgrade and further develop these systems in accordance with future requirements for new technology in low and zero emission technology.
We deliver the most innovative solutions to reduce emissions, modernize and extend the life of ABB systems in accordance with the rules of classification societies.
More and more of our customers want to upgrade according to the latest class notations, which are among the most challenging projects in the marine industry.
As a project manager, you will become part of a knowledgeable interdisciplinary team dedicated to working with upgrading ships and rigs in line with and towards the green shift.
The tasks may consist of:
Depending on your expertise and experience, a project manager position will involve project management of our delivery projects which can vary both in complexity and size.
The project portfolio spans everything from small single discipline projects to larger multidisciplinary projects with a high degree of design and engineering with us and in the factories.
The project manager follows the projects from handover in the sales phase, through the engineering and manufacturing phases with subsequent factory testing prior to delivery of equipment, further through commissioning and final testing, and until handover of the project to operational service for warranty follow-up.
The project manager in ABB Marine is responsible for the management and control of the project in accordance with ABB's quality system and procedures.

Qualifications for the role

• We are looking for a project manager who will contribute to building the future within marine technology.
  
• You have a bachelor's or master's degree in electrical engineering / automation or equivalent, experience as a project manager or a desire to work as a project manager
• Technical experience with the design of electrical systems or commissioning of such.
  
• You are results-oriented, like to take responsibility and ownership, and have a genuine desire to deliver projects of high quality.
  
• You are able to combine practical and theoretical knowledge when leading the projects, and you have a good understanding of building a strong team that works together towards common goals.
  
• You have an entrepreneurial spirit and see opportunities instead of challenges.
  English is a requirement, as well as cultural awareness and mutual respect.
  
• We believe that you are interested in being part of the development in the marine industry on the supplier side, as well as having an interest in implementing new technology in low and zero emission technology.

The position will be based in Fornebu, Akershus and it's required that potential candidates are able to work from the office.
