About the team and the role:

eBay Indirect Tax offers an opportunity to join our dynamic EMEA Team, based in Germany/Switzerland/Luxembourg.
As a global leader in e-commerce, eBay are passionate about connecting buyers and sellers and fostering opportunities through technology and commerce, and the Indirect Tax team plays a key role in helping our business to achieve that aim.

We are currently seeking a Manager, Indirect Taxes to be based in Switzerland (Bern), Luxembourg (Luxembourg) or Germany (Dreilinden, Berlin) to support the VAT needs of our German business.
This role will be instrumental in supporting with Indirect Tax (VAT) compliance, managing VAT audits, implementing a VAT control framework and participating in a variety of indirect tax projects.

About the Team:

Our EMEA Indirect Tax team is responsible for leading all aspects of VAT matters for eBay's operations across major markets in Europe, Middle East and Africa.
We are committed to maintaining eBay's tax compliance and supporting the business with new initiatives and the implementation of new tax obligations.

The Manager, Indirect Taxes will accomplish:

• Overseeing the indirect tax elements of eBay's German operations, ensuring compliance with German VAT laws and strategic management of our indirect tax obligations.
  
• Taking responsibility for our indirect tax compliance in Germany including reviewing the periodic VAT returns, conducting reviews of OSS and IOSS filings, and managing audits in the course of which you will work closely with our Shared Service Centre.
  
• Driving the automation and digitalization of VAT processes, optimizing both new and existing processes and workflows such as the implementation of the SAP S/4Hana processes thereby enhancing efficiency and accuracy in eBay's indirect tax reporting.
  
• Providing timely and precise indirect tax guidance to business units, helping them navigate complex tax landscapes in Germany and across the EMEA region.

• Flexibility and readiness to travel approximately 20% of the time to meet business needs.
  

Job Requirements:

• Current holder of a similar position, whether in-house or at an accounting firm, with a minimum of 8 years of experience specializing in German Indirect Tax.
  
• Proficiency in both English and German languages.
  
• Bachelor's degree focused on Tax, Legal, or Accounting; possession of an advanced degree or Tax qualification would be advantageous.
  
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools; familiarity with SAP systems considered a beneficial asset.
  
• Developing comprehensive training materials and conducting training sessions for key functions.
  
• Actively participating in global indirect tax projects and staying at the forefront of tax regulations and trends.

), der Verwaltung von MWST-Prüfungen, der Implementierung eines MWST-Kontrollrahmens und der Teilnahme an verschiedenen indirekten Steuerprojekten spielen.

Unser EMEA-Team für indirekte Steuern ist für alle Aspekte der Mehrwertsteuerangelegenheiten in den wichtigsten eBay Märkten in Europa, dem Nahen Osten und Afrika verantwortlich.
Wir setzen uns für die Einhaltung der Steuervorschriften von eBay ein und unterstützen das Unternehmen bei neuen Initiativen und der Umsetzung neuer Steuerpflichten.

Verantwortlichkeiten des Manager Indirect Tax:

• Überwachung der indirekten Steuerelemente der deutschen eBay-Aktivitäten, Sicherstellung der Einhaltung der deutschen Mehrwertsteuergesetze und strategische Verwaltung unserer indirekten Steuerverpflichtungen.
  
• Verantwortung für die Einhaltung unserer indirekten Steuervorschriften in Deutschland, einschließlich der Überprüfung der regelmäßigen Umsatzsteuererklärungen, der Durchführung von Überprüfungen von OSS- und IOSS-Einreichungen und der Verwaltung von Prüfungen, bei denen Sie eng mit unserem Shared Service Center zusammenarbeiten.
  
• Vorantreiben der Automatisierung und Digitalisierung von Mehrwertsteuerprozessen, Optimierung sowohl neuer als auch bestehender Prozesse und Arbeitsabläufe, wie z.
