Die Sozialdienste der Volkssolidarität Berlin gGmbH gehört in Berlin zu den größten Pflegeträgern. Mit rund 700 Mitarbeitenden und ca. 230 Ehrenamtlichen ist die gemeinnützige Gesellschaft Träger von ambulanten, teilstationären, stationären Einrichtungen sowie einem ambulanten Hospizdienst, Einrichtungen des betreuten Wohnens und Wohngemeinschaften für Menschen mit Demenz und gewährleistet mit hoher Qualität die Pflege, Betreuung und Versorgung pflegebedürftiger Menschen.
Seit 2020 startet die neue generalistische Ausbildung zur Pflegefachfrau / zum Pflegefachmann, die die bisherigen Ausbildungsberufe in der Altenpflege, Gesundheits- und Krankenpflege und Gesundheits- und Kinderkrankenpflege zusammenführt.
Die Zusammenlegung stärkt die eigenständige Profession des Pflegeberufes, der dadurch an Attraktivität gewinnt. Der generalistische Abschluss ist EU-rechtlich anerkannt und die Pflegefachfrau / der Pflegefachmann ist universell einsetzbar. Am Ende der Ausbildung sind die Absolventinnen und Absolventen dazu befähigt, die Pflege von Menschen aller Altersstufen in akuten und dauerhaft stationären sowie ambulanten Pflegesituationen durchzuführen. Mit dem neuen Pflegeberufegesetz wird erstmals die hohe Fachlichkeit, die der Pflegeberuf erfordert, gesetzlich hervorgehoben.
