Sustainability Manager

Accountabilities
As the Sustainability Manager at MCM, you will play a central role in driving the company's sustainability initiatives.
This position focuses on embedding sustainable practices throughout the organization by aligning operational and strategic goals with environmental, social, and ethical standards.
You will collaborate across departments, manage key sustainability programs, and ensure the organization meets evolving industry expectations.
This role is critical in fostering a culture of accountability, innovation, and leadership in sustainability, positioning MCM as a global standard-bearer for environmental and social responsibility.
Key Responsibilities:

Partner with functional leaders to envision and execute MCM's sustainability strategy;
Benchmark the brand against competitors to ensure early and proactive adoption of sustainability goals including both environmental as well as ethical concerns;
Support in development of an action plan with clear, measurable targets and ensure these are met on time, on budget;
Identify short, medium and long-term opportunities and develop an action plan for the introduction and integration of sustainable best practices into the brand business model and three-year plan;
Coordinates audits and build frameworks to measure MCM's sustainability across different dimensions of the business;
Supports in workshops with senior management and key functions to build engagement within the business towards sustainable transformation and solutions;
Work closely to improve operational sustainability performance that empowers employees, creates innovation and reduces MCM's overall environmental footprint and reaches our sustainability goals;
Acquires a clear understanding of industry best practices, news, innovations and developments and regularly communicate these to appropriate stakeholders to keep sustainability top of mind;
Deliver regularly sustainability reports;
Partner with marketing & PR teams to ensure that the correct and appropriate communications are going out, as well as partnership for risk mitigation and crisis management for sustainability related communication matters;
Collaborates with sourcing team to ensure that material and product environmental impact assessments are clearly communicated to the design team through the creation of toolkits, sustainability material resources, and ongoing educational sessions;
Partner with all functions for sustainable strategy execution, information flow and reporting;
Partner with appropriate stakeholders to continually improve internal policies and practices to ensure that we are improving the lives of our employees and partners and becoming more sustainable;
Identify appropriate industry partnerships and certifications that are relevant for MCM for playing a leadership rather than follower role in the industry;
Support opportunities to raise awareness of MCM's sustainability commitments and efforts both internally and externally;
Ensure regular inflow of best practices and ideas and share those with the appropriate internal stakeholders.
Requirements:

Proven experience in sustainability roles, preferably within the luxury, fashion, or consumer goods industries
Demonstrated success in developing and executing sustainability strategies at a global scale
Strong communication skills, with the ability to present complex concepts in a relatable manner to diverse, multilingual audiences
Expertise in using virtual tools to collaborate effectively with distributed teams across New York, Hong Kong, Seoul, and other locations
Exceptional ability to navigate cultural differences and sensibilities with sensitivity and ease
Positive, proactive attitude with the ability to inspire and collaborate as both a leader and a team player
Strong relationship-building skills, with the ability to engage stakeholders at all levels of the organization
Passion for innovation and continuous improvement in sustainability practices
