This posting will be used to fill 2 permanent full-time positions working 75 hours bi-weekly.
It will establish a 12-month eligibility list which may be used to fill similar positions.This job is based in the thriving and diverse city of Whitehorse in the beautiful Yukon.Who we are:
We are the Family Resource Unit in Yukon's Department of Health and Social Services.
While working closely with Yukon First Nations, we aim to make a difference through the delivery of Yukon-wide services and programs that support positive and healthy outcomes for children, youth, and their families.Your role:
The Family Resource Worker is responsible for providing and maintaining culturally appropriate, home-based support services and groups for caregivers with children aged 0-19 within Yukon.
The position works to strengthen the caregiver-child relationship by enhancing parenting skills, reducing caregiver stress, and addressing the needs of caregivers to promote a safe and healthy environment for children and their caregivers.
The position works closely with other government and non-government resources in the provision and coordination of services to the child(ren) and families.Important application and job requirements:

Proven ability to build rapport and trust in relationships with clients, collaterals, and stakeholdersAbility to work independently and as part of a team, excellent organization, communication, and problem-solving skillsUnderstanding the values and practice of strength-based, family-centered servicesAwareness of child protection and Child and Family Services ActUnderstanding of Yukon First Nations Culture and self-reflective cultural practicesAbility to conduct assessments (i.e., risks to families and children, family strengths and goals, family functioning)Valid Yukon class 5 drivers' license or equivalentTB screeningWHMIS 2015 (completed within 1-month of hire)Job requirements:
