We are seeking a Solution Architect to design high-performing and thoughtfully architected software applications that meet our internal business needs and enhance guest experiences. The ideal candidate will have proven experience in applying architectural best practices and forward-thinking approaches to build, enhance, and sustain technology solutions that support our rapidly growing organization.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

Design system architecture and roadmap.
Utilize architectural best practices and standards in design and build.
Design and document reusable and scalable frameworks and components.
Provide initial effort and cost assessments for departmental initiatives.
Coordinate and collaborate with counterparts in other departments to ensure technology solutions are built for the enterprise.
Assist management in making technology decisions by evaluating risk and ROI.
Participate and contribute to yearly strategic initiative planning and funding discussions.
Collaborate with Product Management, Domain Architects, and Lead Engineers to bring projects from concept to implementation.
Serve as the primary technical solution design architect for one or more teams and their systems and integrations.
Act as the primary decision escalation resource for addressing architecture and integration issues affecting the team.
Continuously drive improvements in performance, security, automation, quality, monitoring, and reliability of platforms.
Develop and maintain current and future-state architecture models and ensure all documentation is up to date.
Stay updated with industry best practices, technologies, architectures, trends, and emerging technologies, and develop proof of concept projects to validate innovative ideas.

Qualifications, Skills, Experience, and Personal Requirements:

Bachelor's degree in computer science/engineering or equivalent.
10+ years of software engineering experience, including at least 2 years in a Solution Architect capacity within a retail/supply-chain organization.
Extensive experience in the retail/supply chain industry, familiar with application systems and business practices.
Experience in solutioning end-to-end full-stack applications and integrating SaaS and PaaS systems.
Proven experience in building technology roadmaps spanning 3-5 years.
Experience in vendor evaluation and scoring of modern technologies/tools.
Excellent collaboration skills, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Experience in mentoring technical team members and providing technical leadership.
Familiarity with architectural frameworks and patterns.
Experience working in a SAFE®/Agile environment.
Experience contributing to multiple medium to large size initiatives simultaneously.
Familiarity with streaming platforms (e.g., Confluent Kafka) for real-time data at massive scale.
Experience with AWS or other public clouds from a system design perspective.
Experience working with containers, Docker, Kubernetes, or other container schedulers.
