Position Summary

Nuvollo is looking for an individual who is equally adept at architecting the environment of a new client, or creating standard operating procedures, or troubleshooting a critical issue or providing an IT evolution plan with executives.
You have a good understanding of IT best practices, from backups to patching, from monitoring to policies.
You thrive in a fast-paced environment with multiple projects and issues and priorities.
You are ready to drive change and make an impact to help our clients and Nuvollo meet its goals for a stable, secure, good performing and optimized IT environments.
The candidate must be a self starter, and work well in a team.
You will be joining our Servers & Infrastructure team, responsible for the infrastructure of 250+ clients, mainly centered around a growing private cloud and public cloud architecture.
You will collaborate regularly with the other teams (Networking, Cybersecurity, Client Services) on various initiatives.
You are a deep subject matter expert who can evaluate modern technology to fit into current infrastructure architecture.
As a senior team member, you will find excitement in the architecture, design, deployment, operations, and optimization of private and public cloud environments.
You will be responsible for identifying and selecting appropriate cloud and on-premises services based on requirements and constraints.
Excellent communication skills verbal and written in English.
Bilingual French and English would be an asset.

Expectations are that the successful candidate:

will be able to apply his or her technical skills on various client project and Nuvollo initiatives within a few days; and
will develop and show leadership in specific areas and become Subject Matter Expert and leading voice for Nuvollo in these areas within a year; and
will actively contribute to Nuvollo projects in implementing new tools and processes and optimizations; and
will continue to learn and achieve industry certifications aligned with Nuvollo needs and your personal interests.

Day to Day Activities:

Managing and maintaining the VMware / Windows Infrastructure
Investigate and resolve field escalated problem tickets from end customers about server and application issues.
Review trends about client and infrastructure issues, and provide creative, automated and/or efficient ways to better manage the environments.
Collaborate directly with clients and the Nuvollo team on various projects, from the initial assessment and scoping, all the way to the implementation, client acceptance testing, and ongoing operating and optimization.
Collaborate with a growing IT team in the development and implementation of end-to-end IT integrated systems and solutions.
Document and develop in-depth knowledge of company's existing infrastructure related solutions, and technology portfolio.
Develop, document, communicate and enforce infrastructure technology standards policy.
Conduct research on emerging technologies supporting infrastructure development efforts and recommend technologies that will increase cost effectiveness and infrastructure flexibility.
Maintenance of infrastructure equipment and related dependencies such as monthly updates, software upgrades, including testing and problem resolution

Qualifications

Degree in Information Technology, Engineering, or equivalent experience
5+ years experience in VMware infrastructure design, implementation, and troubleshooting
5+ years experience in Windows Systems architecture, administration, and troubleshooting
Strong knowledge and proven experience in at least one of the following areas:
Active Directory, Azure, VMware, Remote Desktop Services, Windows Servers
Areas of knowledge considered a plus:
Azure and/or AWS expertise, knowledge of SANs, O365, Linux, experience writing scripts to automate common administrative, deployment and infrastructure tasks.
Willingness to participate in 7/24 on-call rotation to respond to and resolve systems and application issues to ensure Nuvollo meets or exceeds committed service level agreements.
