Job Summary

The Head of Stores - Canada(based in Toronto) will be responsible for leading all Mackage retail operations and teams across Canada, reporting directly to the VP of Global Retail & Brand Experience.

As the ideal candidate, you are passionate about the fashion industry, with an entrepreneurial spirit and a strong ability to drive results. You are a self-motivated problem solver with a 'do-what-it-takes' attitude, constantly seeking ways to improve processes and exceed expectations.

What you'll do

People Leadership

  • Attract and retain exceptional talent while providing coaching and development to retail teams across Canada.
  • Inspire and motivate teams to achieve high performance, cultivating a positive culture focused on delivering an elevated customer experience and driving sales results.
  • Lead performance management processes for retail employees and offer development tools in collaboration with the Talent & Culture team.
  • Provide clear communication to all team members regarding standards, operational expectations, and performance goals.

Operations Excellence

  • Ensure Canadian locations operate efficiently and align with brand standards and regional regulations, in partnership with corporate functions.
  • Oversee the successful opening and operating plans for new retail locations in Canada, including department store soft shops.
  • Drive sales growth across the Canadian market, achieving targets and identifying opportunities for improvement.
  • Implement and monitor best practices for customer experience, sales strategies, store presentation, staffing, inventory management, and financial controls.
  • Collaborate with the HO Retail team to optimize labor models that balance exceptional customer experiences with cost efficiency.
  • Establish and maintain a robust loss prevention program.
  • Lead Canadian operations training, including strategy development and content creation, in collaboration with the HO Retail team.

Client Development and Retail Marketing

  • Drive revenue thru our CRM process to mitigate traffic paterns and establish a repeat loyal client base.
  • Assist stores to monetize all monthly CRM strategies by maximizing client lists, with a focus on top active clients and hi po new purchasers.
  • Establish local parterships with charity organizations to aquire new clients, drive Incremental revenue and develop lapsed local customers.
  • Maximize all new Client based initiatives, Book an Appointment online, Birthday initiatives, retail annimations and global charity initatives.
  • Ensure VIC initiatives are executed in stores.

What you'll bring

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Commerce, Economics, or relevant work experience.

Experience:

  • 7-10 years of retail management experience, ideally in luxury or premium retail.

Technical skills & competencies:

  • Exceptional leadership skills with a proactive, strategic and results-oriented approach.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, an engaging personality, and the ability to inspire and develop high-performing teams.
  • Advanced knowledge of KPI management, with strong analytical and business acumen.
  • Outstanding organizational, communication, time management, and presentation skills.
  • Expertise in clienteling, visual merchandising, and hosting retail/marketing events.
  • Ability to travel and oversee teams in multiple locations.
  • Deep awareness of Canadian and international luxury retail trends.
