Key Responsibilities

Strategic Leadership

• Establish a long-term vision for the company's technology architecture that aligns with business objectives.
• Create and maintain a strategic roadmap for technology initiatives, that aligns with company objectives, prioritizing projects that deliver business value and competitive advantage.

Product Development Leadership

• Oversee the end-to-end development of new features, from ideation and design to deployment and evaluation.
• Prioritize and manage product backlogs, ensuring timely delivery of high-impact features.

E-Commerce Platform Management

• Oversee the design, development, and optimization of the eCommerce platform, ensuring scalability, security, and performance.
• Monitor and enhance site performance, uptime, and speed to optimize user experience.
• Collaborate with the marketing team to integrate technology solutions that enhance digital marketing efforts, including SEO, SEM, and social media strategies
• Implement and test strategies to improve on-site conversion rates.

Data and Analytics

• Implement data analytics and business intelligence tools to provide insights into customer behavior, sales trends, and operational efficiency.
• Track and report key performance indicators.
• Solid understanding of data engineering, including data warehousing and data transformations (e.g. BigQuery, DataForm, DBT).
• Solid understanding of GA4 to help understand and optimize user behaviour on site.
• Solid understanding of Google Ads and Meta Ads to help interpret campaign performance and user behaviour to support website traffic metrics.
• Work with the marketing team, and use insights from GA4, Google Ads, Meta Ads to drive campaign decisions to optimize campaigns and revenue generation.

Cybersecurity and Compliance

• Implement and maintain robust cybersecurity measures to protect customer data and company assets.
• Ensure compliance with relevant regulations (e.g., GDPR, CCPA, PCI DSS 4.0+) and industry standards.
• Conduct regular audits, risk assessments, and penetration testing.

Infrastructure and Operations

• Oversee the company's engineering infrastructure, including networks, servers, and cloud-based systems.
• Ensure the scalability and reliability and security of IT systems to support business growth.
• Implement IT policies and procedures to maintain operational excellence.

Team Management

• Lead, mentor, and manage the engineering team, including developers, engineers, and support staff.
• Recruit and retain top engineering talent to build a high-performing department.
• Foster a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous learning.

Qualifications & Skills

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, product management or a related field.
• 8+ years of experience in Tech leadership and product management, preferably within e-commerce or retail businesses.
• Proven experience developing and managing large-scale digital platforms and IT infrastructure.
• Expertise in e-commerce platforms (e.g., Shopify).
• Proficiency working with cloud technologies (e.g. GCP (preferred), AWS), Kubernetes
• Proficient in full stack web development platforms (e.g. Ruby on Rails (preferred), React, MongoDB, MySQL)
• Proficiency in cybersecurity frameworks and data protection practices.
• Strategic and analytical thinker with strong problem-solving skills.
• Excellent leadership and team-building abilities.
• Strong project management and organizational skills.
• Effective communication and stakeholder management.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to collaborate across teams.
