Position Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and visionary Director of Architecture to lead the architectural direction for a range of high-rise, mixed-use developments across the GTA. As a key member of the leadership team, you will shape design strategies, drive project quality, and ensure each development aligns with the company's brand, standards, and community values.

In this role, you will oversee the work of the external Architectural firms hired by our Developer client and be a key part of the selection of those Architectural practices. You will also manage the internal architectural team made up of Architects, Job Captains, and others.

Responsibilities

• Architectural Strategy:
  Lead the development of architectural vision and design guidelines, ensuring all projects meet the company's standards for quality, sustainability, and innovation.
• Project Leadership:
  Oversee the architectural design process across multiple projects, collaborating with Development and Construction teams to meet goals and budgets.
• Team Development:
  Manage and mentor a team of architectural professionals, promoting growth and maintaining high standards of work.
• Consultant & Stakeholder Collaboration:
  Coordinate with external consultants, municipal authorities, and internal stakeholders to facilitate approvals and ensure design consistency.
• Quality Control:
  Conduct site visits, oversee quality checks, and address design issues, ensuring high standards are maintained from concept through completion.

Qualifications

• Education:
  Bachelor's or Master's degree in Architecture; active OAA registration is required for this role.
• Experience:
  10+ years in architecture, with 5+ years in leadership roles focused on high-rise or mixed-use residential projects in Ontario.
• GTA Knowledge:
  In-depth understanding of zoning, building codes, and market trends in the GTA.
• Skills:
  Proficiency with AutoCAD, Revit, and other industry-standard design software for oversight and training purposes. Excellent communication and project management abilities.
