Core Responsibilities of the Head Cook RoleDesign and deliver daily menus that cater to the diverse dietary needs of primary school children.
Oversee daily kitchen operations, ensuring a smooth and efficient service during school hours.
Implement and maintain high standards of food safety and hygiene, following industry regulations.
Coordinate with school staff to ensure meal schedules align with educational activities.
Manage kitchen inventory, oversee supply orders, and minimize waste effectively.
Lead and mentor kitchen staff, fostering a positive and productive working environment.
Required Experience and QualificationsProven experience in a similar role, ideally within a school or educational catering environment.
Enhanced DBS check and compliance with safeguarding children protocols.
A minimum Level 2 Food Hygiene and Safety certification.
Strong leadership and organizational skills, with the ability to multitask and manage time efficiently.
Excellent communication skills to collaborate with school members and kitchen staff.
Proficiency in menu planning and adapting meals to dietary requirements.
