We're on the hunt for a Structural Analyst on our Satellite systems team at our Montreal office.

Within a concurrent engineering team, the senior Structural Analyst will establish the structural design of space-borne antennas and electronic equipment.

The structural analyst performs static, dynamic and thermoelastic analyses using standard structural analysis techniques, Nx/Nastran and other commercial or in-house developed software.

Tasks/Responsibilities:

He/she sizes the components, identifies problem areas, suggests modifications or guides the design as necessary.
He/she calculates the safety margins and documents the analyses.
He/she may also be called to generate test procedures, carry experiments and write test reports to demonstrate design worthiness.

Minimal Qualifications Required:

Bachelor degree in Mechanical Engineering or the equivalent.
Minimum 5 years of direct experience in structural dynamics (modal, sine, random) as well as static & thermo-elastic analyses with the FEA software NASTRAN, preferably in an Nx environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

Multi-tasking capability.
Ability to identify key issues in a design and prioritize them accordingly.
Ability to work under tight schedules.
Experience in fatigue and shocks.
Knowledge of composites.
Experience in acoustic analyses.
Experience in structural testing (vibration test, modal test, etc.).
Experience in the space industry & antenna RF requirements are assets.

Comments/Special Considerations:

Successful candidates must obtain and hold security clearance at the reliability status level, and pass security assessment for the Controlled Goods Program (CGP) and ITAR.
