THE ROLE

A hands-on position managing the accounting operations and financial reporting for a growing fintech company, ensuring accuracy and compliance across multiple entities.

Full Cycle Accounting (40%)
Accounting & Reporting (30%)
Treasury & Compliance (20%)
Special Projects (10%)

THE TASKS

Full Cycle Accounting

Oversee all aspects of the accounting function, including general ledgers, month-end closes, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and tax compliance
Ensure accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and year-end financial accounting processes for consolidated and standalone operating and regulated entities
Manage financial and KPI reporting for investors and key stakeholders
Actively track key metrics and provide regular reporting and analysis to the leadership team
Support data migration between internal systems and QuickBooks

Accounting & Reporting

Develop and maintain all financial reporting processes
Coordinate and manage external audits
Support internal management reporting requirements
Monitor performance against budgets and provide actionable insights

Treasury & Compliance

Oversee treasury management, ensuring timely transaction recording and reconciliation
Lead product-ledger reconciliations for customer cash accounts and lending accounts
Manage preparation and filing of required reports for financial partners
Support internal risk and compliance functions to meet regulatory responsibilities

Special Projects

Collaborate on budgets, forecasts, and financial models
Provide financial insights to drive business performance
Support operations and sales teams with customer-related transaction queries

Master internal systems and processes
Understand current financial operations workflow
Build relationships with key stakeholders
Take ownership of daily accounting operations

Lead quarterly close process independently
Implement process improvements
Manage regulatory filings effectively
Drive reporting efficiency improvements

By Month 6

Support cross-functional initiatives
Provide financial insights and analysis for other teams
Enhance internal controls framework
Develop automated reporting solutions

By Month 12

Become a go-to resource for finance-related questions
Establish scalable processes
Drive strategic initiatives forward

THE SKILL SET

A minimum of 4 years of relevant experience
CPA or equivalent designation
Strong SQL and Excel skills
Startup or high-growth company experience highly valued
