Requirement Summary

Job Role/Title: Senior Platform Engineer (Microsoft Azure Platform Engineer)
Job Location: Toronto, Ontario - M5G 1R7, Canada.
Contract Period: The initial contract is for 6 months, with good possibilities for further extension and the potential to convert into direct hire.
Remote Work Options: A hybrid work setting, with 3 days/week in the office is required.

NOTE

This position requires an Enhanced Reliability Status Security Clearance to access Protected B information. The successful personnel must have an active Secret Clearance; or, must be open to undergoing the Enhanced Reliability Clearance process if required.
On-call rotation is on a weekly basis, if there is any urgent support needed, we should support else we do need to be online during the weekends or nonbusiness hours.

Role/Job Summary: The Platform Engineer performs the following major functions. The position may require additional duties/responsibilities that may not be outlined below, and specific functions are subject to change.

Support with the design, build, and maintenance of cloud-based platform infrastructure systems like Azure.
Ensure application performance, uptime, and scale, maintaining high standards for code quality and thoughtful design.
Good experience in Access provisioning, Azure AD groups, and Identity management.
Manage all cloud environments in accordance with company security guidelines.
Participate in a 24/7 On-Call rotation to address and resolve technical escalations.
Set up CI/CD pipeline in On-Prem and Cloud platforms in Azure.
Automate infrastructure provisioning using Terraform/ARM Template/Bicep or Ansible.
Experience working with Azure SDK
Good Knowledge on Azure PaaS, SaaS, and IaaS offerings
Good Knowledge on Azure Security
Ability to troubleshoot Azure DNS, Azure Connectivity, NSG, and routing.
Self-motivated with a positive attitude and an ability to work independently and in a team.
Passionate about Generative AI and Machine learning.

Key Skillset for this Role

Experience in managing Azure platforms/infrastructure development and deployment.
A degree in computer science or equivalent training is preferred.
Proficient in Azure technologies such as Data Lake Gen 2, Storage Accounts, Event Hub, Kubernetes, Pipelines, Databricks, Data Factory, Function App, and tools like Terraform, Ansible, and Azure Monitor.
Strong knowledge of Splunk and Control M tools integration and support.
Hands-on programming skills in Python
Deep knowledge of Azure infrastructure, including subnet management and security, is an advantage.
Interpersonal skills: team spirit, customer-oriented, idea sharing, affinity with architecture, active listening, non-violent communication.
