Wood is seeking an experienced Senior Structural Engineer in Sarnia, ON to join our busy and growing Oil, Gas and New Energies Canada team due to growth in our business. We are looking for a motivated, energetic individual with strong knowledge in Structural Engineering and Design within an EPC environment.

Please note this role will work our standard hybrid schedule of 3 days/week minimum in the Sarnia office.

Responsibilities:

Lead the execution of projects for the Civil/Structural to meet client needs and expectations.
Act as the Civil/Structural interface with local clients.
Attend client and project meetings (Office / Job sites).
Preparation of manhour estimates and execution plans for proposals.
Completion of structural design and analysis to applicable Codes and Standards.
Managing and reporting engineering progress.
Preparation of technical reports and calculation packages as project deliverables.
Perform structural design with design software (SAP2000, RISA 3D, STAAD).
Perform checks on other engineers' design.
Work collaboratively with designers on the project to produce design deliverables.
Review project documents prior to issue for scope and presentation against project standards and specifications.
Authenticate and issue Civil/Structural engineering deliverables.
Interface with other disciplines, project management to execute work per the Project Plan.
Conduct field reviews at project work sites.
Interface with workshare team from other Wood global offices.
Work in compliance with all Health and Safety rules and regulations for Wood and its clients.

Minimum Requirements:

Must be legally able to work in Canada at the time of application.
Must be registered as a Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) with PEO.
Qualified to register as a Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) with APEGA.
15+ years of relevant EPC experience working on Oil and Gas projects, with local experience in the Sarnia area.
Excellent knowledge of structural theory and working knowledge of the Ontario Building Code and the Canadian Building Code.
Strong background and experience in structural steel and reinforced concrete design.
Comprehensive knowledge of the requirements of CSA S16 and CSA A23.3.
Proficiency in modeling and analysis using SAP2000, RISA 3D, and STAAD.
Broad exposure to oil and gas facility design, including refineries and upgraders.
Civil (Earthworks, Grading) experience is an asset.
Field construction experience.
Ability to work efficiently and effectively when managing multiple assignments.
Strong technical writing skills; experienced in the preparation of correspondence and technical reports.
Effective verbal communicator, including presentation, facilitation and listening skills.
Ability to work both independently and in a multi-disciplinary team environment.
Willing to travel and accept field assignments.
Motivated by working with people, through internal collaboration or with external clients.
Loves to share knowledge, experiences, and expertise with others to assist, mentor and coach less experienced members of the team in their development.
