We're looking for our next Investment Representative (IR) / Trade Desk Representative.

Could it Be You?

As a member of the Trade desk team, an Investment Representative (IR) is the primary and crucial first point of contact at the Questrade Trade desk contact center. An IR will be responsible for handling all inbound calls in relation to trade related topics, while delivering stellar quality and accuracy of information prioritizing a client-centric focus.

As a licensed IR, you will have the opportunity to expand your knowledge and deal with various trade related topics such as equities, options, fixed income, precious metals, mutual funds, FX and more. In this role, responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Delivering a superior client experience. Going above and beyond each call to ensure top client satisfaction.
• Becoming a product expert in all trade-related issues. Resolving any trade concerns in a professional manner. This will involve strong cross communication between multiple departments to ensure client issues are solved effectively.
• Becoming a go-getter. Looking for ways to enhance all client service experiences on the phone by ensuring processes are efficient and any issues are diligently dealt with and solved effectively.
• Paying extreme attention to detail. Assisting in entering client trade requests in the most diligent manner.
• Being collaborative and communicating with various teams executing exchanges, technology support, risk and credit, settlements, and client services to ensure proper handling and success of client issues.
• Performing other duties as assigned.

So are YOU our next Investment Representative (IR) / Trade Desk Representative? You are if you…

• Have minimum 2+ years related work experience in call center, preferably in a financial services environment
• Have broad investment product knowledge in Equities, Derivatives, Fixed Income, Mutual Fund, FX and more
• Are proficient in Python programming with a solid understanding of its core concepts and applications, relevant to financial trading with a demonstrated ability to write and troubleshoot Python scripts to support trade desk operations and automate routine tasks.
• Understand firm risks, compliance requirements and limitations and understand what needs to be prioritized
• Are confident in taking ownership over any problems encountered and ensuring issues are resolved in a timely and effective manner
• Have strong ability to communicate effectively and precisely under unique circumstances
• Are able to set goals, and work independently
• Can effectively become a subject expert to consolidate, solve and refine any trade related issues
• Have stellar communication skills and can effectively solve any client issues
• Are willing to embrace unique circumstance and can easily and calmly navigate escalations by understanding the risks and knowing how to prioritize them
• Are solution-focused and able to work with many departments and Traders to develop strong product knowledge and future opportunities
• Are an IIROC licensed IR or have your CSC, CPH, and DFOL up to date
• Are available to work from 11:30 am to 8 pm, Monday to Friday

Additional information:

• Please note this role will be required to be in office 3 days a week
• Trade Desk operates from 7 am to 8 pm, Monday to Friday
• Candidates who are not IIROC licensed IRs will be titled Trade Desk Representative and will be able to perform the non-registered tasks of the role.
• They will also be required to successfully complete additional Canadian Securities Institute courses to satisfy CIRO standards, including the CSC, CPH and DFOL within the timeframe discussed with the Manager, Trade Desk and in accordance with Questrade's Educational Assistance Policy.
