Manager, Operations Support New Remote / Hybrid

We are seeking an Operations Support Manager. Reporting to the Director of Field Operations and Analytics, this role will be responsible for providing the support required to the Greyshirts in the field; whether in training or on operations. This may involve mobilizing people and equipment, coordinating sustainment, supply chain management, fleet management, resourcing volunteers, procurement, and enacting tactical logistics solutions in fast-paced environments. Your innovative problem-solving skills and dedication to putting the mission first, and Greyshirts always will guide your decisions and actions.

Responsibilities:

• Remote and on-site planning, execution, and support to operations
• Nationwide resource management and mobilization
• Assistance with program execution with regards to support/logistics requirements
• Procurement of resources and equipment to support training and operations
• Budget and finance/resource allocation
• Management of event budgets and operational expenditures in line with the delegation of authority
• Fleet management of vehicles, trailers, and non-IT serialized equipment (chainsaws, pole saws, etc.)
• Logistics leadership and training for volunteers in logistical roles nationwide
• Creation and management of a centralized logistics tracking system (in partnership with the Director of Field Operations)
• Other duties as assigned.

Experience and Background:

• Bachelor's degree (in Business, Supply Chain Management, or related field) or equivalent combination of education and experience. Post-graduate education is an asset.
• Professional certification in supply chain or logistics management (e.g., APICS, CSCP, CLTD) preferred.
• 3+ years experience in logistics or related field, preferably in a non-profit environment.
• 2+ years experience in volunteer management or related field.
• Proven ability to develop and implement logistics support plans for diverse operational needs.
• Strong proficiency in inventory management, fleet management, and logistics coordination across a national scale.
• Experience in volunteer management, with the ability to lead, train, and motivate volunteers to support logistics operations effectively.
• Excellent problem-solving skills with a strategic mindset, capable of identifying and implementing tactical logistics solutions.
• Proficient in budget management and familiar with vendor relationship management to ensure effective resource allocation.
• Experience in remote team management, including the ability to work effectively both on-site and remotely.
• Highly organized and detail-oriented, with the ability to work independently, manage multiple projects, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
• Professional experience with Asana Project Management software and Microsoft Office Suite, with the ability to adapt to new technology.

Job Type:

• Pay Range: $70,000-$80,000

• Occasional travel, including overnight travel across North America, including deployment to disaster response operations.
• Must be comfortable working in austere conditions when required.
