Location: Markham, Ontario

Salary: $54,500

Full-Time 6-Month Contract with Potential to Extend or Become Permanent

We are seeking an Interior Designer to join their dynamic, collaborative, and fun-loving team. You will play a key role in designing exceptional spaces and collaborating with the team to deliver high-quality, client-focused solutions.

Key Responsibilities

• Design Development: Collaborate with clients and internal teams to develop design concepts that align with client goals and project objectives. Create detailed drawings, mood boards, and presentations to communicate design ideas effectively.

• Project Coordination: Work closely with architects, contractors, and vendors to ensure the seamless implementation of design elements. Communicate design intent clearly and ensure consistency in project execution.

• Site Visits: Conduct site visits to assess project progress, evaluate installations, and confirm adherence to design specifications and standards.

• Client Engagement: Act as the primary point of contact for clients, understanding their needs and translating them into cohesive design solutions.

• Material and Resource Selection: Source and select materials, furnishings, fixtures, and other design elements, ensuring both aesthetic and functional requirements are met.

• Documentation and Communication: Maintain accurate project documentation, including design plans, schedules, and communication records, ensuring a smooth project workflow.

• Problem-Solving and Adaptability: Proactively address design challenges and unforeseen changes, implementing solutions that maintain project integrity and client satisfaction.

• Collaborate with the project manager and design leader to develop design concepts and solutions for commercial projects, primarily hotels.

• Create detailed 3D models and renderings using 3ds Max and V-Ray.

• Produce accurate and comprehensive construction drawings using AutoCAD.

• Participate in team meetings and contribute to the overall design process.

• Ensure that all designs meet the company's quality standards and client requirements.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Interior Design
Minimum 3 years of experience in designing commercial projects preferably with a focus on hotels.
Strong proficiency in HubSpot, Photoshop, MS Office, and Programma, 3ds Max, V-Ray, and AutoCAD.
Strong portfolio showcasing previous commercial design projects.
Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Ability to think big-picture while working with multi-million-dollar clients.
Flexibility for potential travel within Canada and the US; a valid passport is essential.
Attention to detail and commitment to delivering projects of the highest quality.
