We are looking for a proactive, results-driven Finance Commercial Sales Leader to join our wholesale appliance company.Job Overview:
In this role, you will oversee key financial processes related to sales, commercial operations, and product pricing, collaborating closely with the sales and product departments.
The Finance Commercial Sales Leader will manage the budgeting and forecasting processes, ensure accurate month-end and year-end close, oversee EBITDA reporting, allocate rebates, and support pricing simulations.
This role also involves leading a small team of finance professionals and handling various ad hoc projects that align financial strategies with commercial goals.Key Responsibilities:
Budgeting & Forecasting:
Manage the preparation and ongoing updates of sales-related budgets and forecasts, ensuring alignment with company goals and objectives.Month-End & Year-End Close:
Oversee the month-end and year-end close process, ensuring the accurate reporting of financial results, including the allocation of revenue, costs, and rebates.EBITDA Reporting:
Prepare and analyze monthly and quarterly EBITDA reports, providing actionable insights and highlighting key trends to senior management.
Work with various departments to understand variances and recommend corrective actions.Rebate Allocation:
Ensure accurate allocation and tracking of sales rebates, working closely with the sales team to ensure compliance with company policies and timely payments.Cost Inputs for Pricing Simulations:
Provide detailed cost input and financial analysis for product pricing simulations, collaborating with the product and sales teams to optimize pricing strategies and improve profitability.Ad-Hoc Analysis & Collaboration:
Lead and support ad hoc financial analysis projects for the sales and product teams, ensuring that financial data drives informed decision-making.
Work closely with both departments to optimize sales strategies and achieve financial targets.Team Leadership & Development:
Supervise and mentor a small team of two finance professionals, ensuring efficient processes, continuous learning, and professional growth.Cross-Functional Partnership:
Serve as the finance lead for commercial sales, collaborating with the sales and product departments to understand the financial implications of decisions and contribute to the achievement of business objectives.Qualifications:
Experience:
Minimum 5 years of experience in a finance role, with at least 2 years in a commercial or sales finance capacity, preferably within the wholesale, retail, or manufacturing sectors.Leadership Skills:
Experience leading a small team and driving cross-functional collaboration.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills to work effectively with both finance and non-finance stakeholders.Analytical & Financial Skills:
Strong proficiency in financial analysis, budgeting, forecasting, and month-end close processes.
Advanced Excel skills and experience with ERP systems are required.Problem-Solving Ability:
Ability to analyze complex financial data and provide strategic recommendations to improve profitability and operational efficiency.Detail-Oriented:
High attention to detail, particularly in financial reporting, rebate allocations, and pricing models.Commercial Acumen:
A deep understanding of sales-driven financial management, with the ability to collaborate closely with commercial teams to optimize financial performance.Education:
Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field.
