Scope:

The Purchaser is responsible for purchasing activities for our manufacturing location in

Beamsville, ON to support Dörken's business activities in North America.

Role:

The Purchaser is responsible for planning, sourcing, negotiating, and purchasing raw

materials, (small) equipment, and supplies from vendors to support the company's

operational and strategic activities. They play a critical role in ensuring that the company

has the resources and supplies it needs to operate efficiently and achieve its strategic

objectives. They will also be responsible for developing and implementing purchasing

strategies, processes and procedures.

Reports to:

-Supply Chain Manager

Core Areas of Responsibility:

• Identify and evaluate potential suppliers and negotiate contracts to obtain the best
• price, quality, and delivery terms for goods and services.
• Prepare and issue purchase orders and contracts to vendors.
• Ensure that all purchases comply with company policies, procedures, and
• specifications.
• Work closely with internal departments to determine their purchasing needs and
• requirements.
• Manage inventory levels and track orders to ensure timely delivery.
• Resolve any issues or disputes that arise with vendors.
• Monitor supplier performance to ensure that they meet the company's standards
• for quality, delivery, and cost.
• Conduct regular performance evaluations for all suppliers.
• Develop and implement a purchasing strategy that supports and aligns with the
• company's overall business strategy.
• Continuously improve the purchasing process by identifying opportunities for cost
• savings, risk mitigation, and process improvements.
• Develop and maintain relationships with key suppliers to ensure continuity of
• supply and identify potential risks.
• Analyze market trends and conditions to stay up to date with pricing and product
• availability.
• Collaborate with the procurement team in corporate head office (Germany) to align
• our KPI reporting, processes, and procedures.
• Develop and implement policies and procedures that ensure compliance with
• company and regulatory requirements.
• Analyze purchasing data and provide reports and recommendations to
• management.
• Collaborate with cross-functional team members to develop and implement
• supplier performance metrics and scorecards.
• Report and present monthly Purchasing KPIs and identify improvement action
• plans.
• Monitor Sales performance, compare against the yearly forecast and plan the
• annual purchasing of all products to maintain optimal raw material inventory levels.
• Maintain accurate and current Supplier / Inventory information in ABAS (MRP).
• Ensure timely entering of received goods and production results.
• Work with shipping and warehouse teams to ensure proper handling and storage
• of products.
• Tasks and responsibilities may be assigned and/or modified at any time at the sole
• discretion of the company.

Qualifications:

Education:

-University/college degree in business, supply chain management, or related field

preferred. APICS Certification an asset.

Business Experience

-5+ years of experience in purchasing (operational & strategic), procurement,

inventory and supply chain management

-High proficiency in:

-ERP system

-MS-Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint
