About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Software Developer to join our expanding team. In this role, you will play a critical part in architecting, developing, and maintaining robust software solutions utilizing Java and contemporary web technologies. You will collaborate within a dynamic team of seasoned developers to deliver cutting-edge and user-centric applications.

Responsibilities:

Architect, develop, and deploy Java-based applications using Spring Boot, Spring Framework, and Vaadin Hilla.
Manage and maintain server infrastructure on Google Cloud Platform.
Develop RESTful APIs to facilitate seamless data exchange between frontend and backend systems.
Write clean, efficient, and well-documented code adhering to best practices.
Collaborate with frontend developers to integrate Vaadin Hilla components effectively.
Conduct code reviews and contribute to the enhancement of code quality.
Diagnose and resolve software defects and issues.
Design and implement data models using MySQL databases.
Utilize Git and GitHub for version control and collaborative development workflows.
Stay abreast of the latest advancements and trends in software development.

Qualifications

Essential:

Demonstrated expertise in Java development, with a strong foundation in object-oriented programming principles.
General Certificate of Education (GCE).
Extensive hands-on experience with Spring Boot and the Spring framework.
Advanced proficiency in developing web applications using Vaadin Hilla or comparable frameworks (e.g., React, Angular, Vue.js).
In-depth experience with relational database management systems, particularly MySQL.
Proficient in utilizing Git and GitHub for version control.
Exceptional problem-solving and analytical capabilities.
Strong communication and collaborative skills.

Desirable:

Experience with cloud computing platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP).
Knowledge of DevOps methodologies and associated tools.
Familiarity with agile software development practices.

Education:

• Post-secondary degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Accounting, or related field.

• 2+ years of experience in a programming or technical support role

Communication skillset:

• Good verbal and written communication skills

• Ability to follow through the troubleshooting process from start to finish including communication to customer and internal teams

Character traits:

• Ability to work independently and as a team player

• Desire to build and maintain a positive rapport with customers

• Proactive

• Self-motivated to learn and grow in role
