ROLE PURPOSE:

Reporting to the Publicis Groupe Chief Financial Officer, with a dotted line to the Senior Vice President for Publicis West Africa, the FD for Ghana is responsible for managing strategic financial operations. The ability to communicate with and work with several different teams is essential, as this role deals with a shared service centre, business unit management, and regional finance team. The FD shares and supports our company's core values as the cornerstone of their work ethic and actively builds them into their team dynamic and way of work.

Key Responsibilities

Business Partner:

Partner with the SVP for Publicis West Africa, to conceive and execute business strategies.
Ensure financial controls, accounting routines, and management systems operate effectively.
Involvement at leadership level in setting business strategy and financial validation of those strategies.
Catalyst for change in efficiencies, standardization, quality, operational agility, and automation.
Advise on the business situation, increasing revenue, reducing costs, and accelerating cash collection from clients.
Help client and practice leaders develop new and existing revenue sources.
Support Client Services for all financial and operational issues.
Define the optimal way to deliver services to ensure quality to clients and profitability for the Groupe.

Controlling, Budgeting, and Internal Control Functions:

Track risk and advise leadership team on status and recommended course of action.
Handle budgeting, monthly forecasting, and analyses/comments for the SVP for Ghana and Leadership team.
Ensure compliance with Publicis Groupe SA operational and financial policies.
Follow up on internal audits performed by the Groupe Internal Audit.
Manage working capital improvement including overdue receivables and WIP.

Negotiations:

Ensure all contracts are legally and financially sound.
Support leaders in negotiations by providing financial information.
Participate with RFPs to protect agency interests and help close deals.
Organize the Finance function in Ghana for smooth day-to-day operations.
Ensure fulfilment of all Publicis Groupe SA with a functional line to the CFO/Global Finance Team.
Maintain sound financial processes and systems for optimum control and accurate time charging.

Qualifications

Previous Work Experience:

8+ years' experience in a similar position, preferably within a Marketing/Advertising industry.
Knowledge of Excel, financial systems, and business software.

Theoretical Knowledge:

Diploma in Business, Finance, Accounting, or related field.

Competencies:

Financially Astute:
Proven experience managing P&Ls and providing meaningful financial information.
Commercial:
Previous experience in client contracts, leading acquisitions, and supporting a growth plan.
Talent Oriented:
Partnered with a Chief Talent Officer in managing headcounts and personnel costs.
Operational:
Hands-on experience in building and executing strategies smoothly.
Matrixed Organization:
Understanding of navigating an international matrixed organization.
