Your opportunity

Dillon's Planning & Design group is looking for a Planner to join our multidisciplinary team of professionals. You will have the opportunity to work on new and exciting projects while providing clients with a fully integrated and superior customer experience.

At Dillon, we operate as one team. The successful candidate can be based at any one of our following offices: Saint John, Moncton or Fredericton.

Responsibilities

What your day will look like

Planning

1. Conduct consultation with Indigenous and municipal councils and committees as it relates to regulatory processes
2. Undertake community and environmental planning studies
3. Undertake and contribute to long range planning projects including municipal and regional land use plans and development regulations
4. Conduct public engagement and stakeholder consultation for municipal and regional land use planning projects
5. Contribute to environmental assessments including research, report writing, and stakeholder and regulatory consultation
6. Assist with the review and submission of development applications
7. Develop and coordinate client relationships and business growth in Atlantic Canada, in particular with land development and real estate clients, municipalities, and Indigenous communities
8. Become an active member of our national and local planning team

2. Contribute to Dillon's corporate profile through active participation in professional associations and committees

Qualifications

What you will need to succeed

1. A degree in planning, preferably at the Master's level
2. At least five (5) years or more of relevant experience, preferably in the consulting industry.
3. A full or provisional member in the Canadian Institute of Planners (CIP) association or eligible to be a member within two years
4. Valid NB Class 5 driver's license or provincial equivalent

Experience

1. Familiarity with development approvals process, sustainable community design, urban redevelopment, stakeholder engagement and planning policy, and indigenous community planning
2. Demonstrated abilities in multidisciplinary teamwork
3. Strong communication, report writing, organization and interpersonal skills
4. Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite preferred
