Position Overview:
Reporting to the Principal & Vice President, Academic, New Brunswick, the Dean, Faculty of Education will be responsible for the overall leadership, management, and strategic direction for the Faculty of Education. The Dean will lead and promote Yorkville University's academic vision by championing excellence and innovation in education.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Academic planning and governance.
  • Championing student success.
  • Curriculum development and quality assurance.
  • Faculty hiring and review.
  • Allocation of teaching duties.
  • Fostering a cohesive and collaborative team environment.
  • Supporting faculty and staff in their professional growth.
  • Contributing to the management of the New Brunswick campus budget.
  • Overseeing the academic management of faculty of education programs.
  • Ensuring an excellent student experience and quality assurance of faculty programs.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Earned doctorate from a recognized/accredited institution in a related field.
  • A record of peer-reviewed scholarly activity.
  • At least 7 years' experience teaching at the postsecondary level.
  • At least 3 years' administrative experience in a post-secondary education environment.
  • Experience in the public K-12 education system and/or professional or corporate education and training.
  • Experience supervising graduate students at MEd and doctoral levels.
  • Experience with online delivery of courses and programs.
  • Exceptional diplomatic skills and strong organizational and consensus-building skills.
  • Strong capacity for external relations, including alumni and professional communities.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and collaborate with teams across all functions.
  • A record of success in recruiting and retaining talented and diverse faculty.
  • High personal integrity.
