Sensequake is currently seeking a senior structural engineer to join its team in downtown Montreal.
A good portion of this role will be on business development and the candidate needs to have proper skillsets to succeed in such a multitask role.
Job description:
• Analyzing the sensing data to extract modal properties using ambient vibration tests (Sensequake offers training)• Integrity evaluation and damage detection of bridges based on vibration tests• Seismic evaluation of buildings using vibration data based on Sensequake patented methodology and software (Sensequake offers training) • Seismic time history analysis and FEMA P-58 damage evaluation• Writing and reviewing technical reports• Presenting results to clients• Working closely with the business team to pitch our technologies to engineers worldwide• Writing proposals and respond to RFPsSkills required:
• Bachelor's degree in civil Engineering• Strong social and presentation skills with excellent written and verbal communication• Passion for technology, self-motivated and a team player• Willing to travel in Canada and other countries• 3 to 7 years of experience as a structural engineer Assets:
• Bilingual in English and French• Master or PhD in structural Engineering• Strong background in bridge evaluation, inspection and design• Strong background in earthquake engineering and non-linear dynamic analysis• Knowledge about ambient vibration tests and modal identification• Experienced to work with the following software:
SAP2000, ETABS, Python, MATLAB• Experience in structural design and retrofit schemes• Knowledge of the NBCC and FEMA codes, especially Hazus & FEMA P-58• OIQ membership What Sensequake offers:
