Supply Chain Technical Buyer - Nordstrong Equipment

On behalf of our client, Nordstrong Equipment, we are recruiting a Supply Chain Technical Buyer to join their team. Reporting to the Director of Estimating and Supply Chain, as a Supply Chain Technical Buyer, you will collaborate and coordinate with Sales, Engineering, Production, and Purchasing, along with their external customers and suppliers to ensure timely, cost-effective procurement of materials for key projects.

As the Supply Chain Technical Buyer, you will:

Collaborate within a team to facilitate engineering changes, product line extensions, and new product launches, ensuring smooth material and production flow transitions.
Address inquiries from internal and external stakeholders regarding order status, shipping details, and inventory levels.
Analyze current inventories and procedures to propose improvements for increased efficiency and profitability.
Coordinate shipments and track delivery schedules, resolving any discrepancies.
Cultivate relationships with suppliers to ensure timely information on product availability, lead times, and pricing.
Assist in inventory management, including optimizing levels and participating in physical counts.
Coordinate logistics operations to minimize costs and enhance efficiency.
Identify cost-saving opportunities and monitor overall supply chain costs.
Resolve issues related to order fulfillment, shipping delays, and inventory discrepancies.
Ensure compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and company policies.
Maintain accurate documentation of supply chain activities and generate reports as needed.
Drive continuous improvement initiatives within the supply chain department.
Identify and mitigate potential risks in the supply chain.
Integrate technology solutions to enhance visibility and automation.
Provide administrative support to the Supply Chain Director to streamline processes and improve accuracy and efficiency within operations.

You and Your Experience:

Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
Grade 12 Diploma or equivalent.
3+ years of experience in a supply chain role.
Proficiency in ERP and CRM systems (Epicor experience is a plus).
Proficiency in MS Office, specifically Excel.
Strong interpersonal and negotiation skills.
Experience purchasing raw materials (particularly steel).
Analytical and problem-solving skills.
Familiar with inventory methodologies, including Min/Max, VMI, and Kanban.
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Proven ability to effectively manage multiple processes.
Self-motivated, with a strong desire to continuously learn and grow.
Excellent record-keeping skills and flexibility to take on additional tasks as necessary.
