Job Title:
Director, Engineering (On Site)

Location:
G3 Head Office, Winnipeg

The Director of Engineering will provide strategic leadership and oversight for the Engineering department, ensuring the successful delivery of engineering projects.
This role requires a seasoned leader with extensive experience in project management, engineering, and team leadership.
The Director will oversee the overall G3 Engineering program and manage cross-functional teams to achieve Engineering goals and organizational objectives.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Develops and implements strategic plans for the Engineering department.
Aligns Engineering goals with the company's overall strategy and objectives.
Oversees the planning, execution, and completion of major engineering projects.
Ensures projects are delivered in a safe manner, on time, within scope, and within budget.
Provides guidance and support for the ongoing asset health of existing facilities.
Leads, mentors, and manages the Engineering team.
Fosters a collaborative and high-performance work environment.
Identifies and implements best practices and process improvements to enhance project efficiency, quality, and outcomes.
Collaborates with internal and external stakeholders, including senior G3 executives and managers, regulators, authorities, and business partners.
Communicates project status, risks, and issues effectively.
Develops and manages project budgets and resource allocation.
Ensures optimal utilization of resources and adherence to financial constraints.
Identifies project risks and develops mitigation strategies.
Addresses and resolves issues and challenges that arise during project execution.
Ensures engineering practices and project deliverables meet the highest standards of quality and compliance with industry regulations and standards.
Stays abreast of industry trends, technologies, and innovations.
Incorporates new methodologies and technologies to enhance project outcomes.
Prepares and presents detailed project reports, including progress updates, financials, and performance metrics.
Maintains accurate project documentation.

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:

Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Project Management, or a related field.
Advanced degree (Master's or MBA) is preferred.
Minimum of 10 years of experience in project engineering or management, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role.
Proven experience in leading and managing large-scale and complex engineering projects.
Strong knowledge of project management methodologies and best practices.
Excellent leadership and team management skills.
Strong financial acumen and budget management skills.
Exceptional problem-solving and analytical abilities.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
