Our client, a fashion brand, is looking for an Accounting Manager to join their growing team.

LOCATION: Oakland, CA. They come to the office four days a week (Monday through Thursday).

JOB DESCRIPTION: They are looking for an experienced, hands-on Accounting Manager to join their accounting team. As an Accounting Manager, you'll be responsible for their revenue recognition procedures and inventory accounting. The role requires a high level of technical accounting proficiency, advanced analytical skills, and the ability to relate accounting entries to procedures in the field (and vice versa). This position will supervise two senior accountants and two AP and will report to the VP of Finance.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Responsible for timely completion of month and year-end financial reporting close.
2. Prepare account reconciliations and manual journal entries.
3. Responsible for monthly close process for inventory, COGS, landed cost and related inventory variance and accrual accounts.
4. Partner with Operations on the execution of the cycle count process for inventory at the physical locations.
5. Partner with Engineering to implement inventory module in NetSuite.
6. Understand and review sales tax and VAT rules to ensure compliance with the local tax agencies.
7. Analyze financial data to identify trends, opportunities for improvement, and risks.
8. Provide management with information key to the decision-making process.
9. Lead GL team including hiring, training, and performance evaluations.
10. Assist in annual audit and tax reporting.
11. Ad hoc projects and analyses as needed.

REQUIREMENTS:

1. Seven-plus years of accounting experience.
2. Excellent computer skills; experience in NetSuite, Microsoft Office Suite, and Google Suite.
3. E-commerce industry experience a plus.
4. CPA, a plus.
5. Strong interpersonal and verbal communication skills.
6. Bachelor's degree in accounting or a related field.

COMPENSATION:
Determining compensation for this role (and others) at Vaco depends upon a wide array of factors including but not limited to the individual's skill sets, experience and training, licensure and certifications, office location and other geographic considerations, as well as other business and organizational needs. With that said, as required by local law, Vaco believes that the following salary range reasonably estimates the base compensation for an individual hired into this position in geographies that require salary range disclosure: $150 + options. The individual may also be eligible for discretionary bonuses.
