Key elements of this role include:

This position will be responsible for the effective management of all aspects of Distribution Contractor Management within the Regional Operations Team. You will be responsible to build and maintain the overall execution plan and measure productivity against goals, perform regular analysis of budgets and maintain a regular cadence of direct engagement with all contractors and stakeholders.

You will work closely with other technical and operating groups to ensure projects are successfully executed in line with expectations and approved budgets. In addition, you will build and maintain a strong relationship with all Distribution Contractors to ensure success in the role.

You will be responsible for personal safety, that of co-workers, and those under your direction by observing and ensuring compliance with all Occupational Health and Safety Rules and Regulations. You will be accountable for environmental management system processes and initiatives. You must demonstrate your commitment to the Capabilities Development Process.

Specific accountabilities include:

• Ensure all aspects of the Contractor Safety Management Plan are being met by all contractors within purview.
• Day to day Leadership of the distribution contract management and execution team.
• Identification of priority distribution work and creation of long- and short-term work and resource plans to enable execution of distribution work across the province to meet company objectives.
• Frequent engagement including formal safety observations of contractor work execution in the field.
• Establishment and reporting of KPI's across all distribution contractor work groups to manage effectiveness.
• Establishment and maintenance of feedback loops to ensure that feedback from the field is incorporated into future work planning.
• Timely management of work scopes including change requests including appropriate surveillance to support billing processes.
• Continuously looking for opportunities to make work execution or management more efficient and productive.
• Other duties as assigned.

These skills will make you successful:

• A Bachelor's Degree in Engineering with 7-12 years of experience.
• The successful candidate will possess a bachelor's degree in engineering and a P.Eng. designation (or be eligible to obtain P.Eng. designation in Nova Scotia).
• An alternate combination of education and experience will be considered.
• Strong analytical/computer skills and an aptitude for detailed process analysis.
• The ideal candidate will have a background in project management.
• You must possess a valid driver's license and be available to provide assistance/ direction for after hour emergency service restoration.
• Previous Electric Utility Experience would be considered an asset.
• Previous leadership experience will be considered an asset.
