This is a full-time position based in Halifax, NS that will require occasional travel.
The primary responsibilities are:
Oversee the permitting of various renewable energy projects across CanadaSupport planning and pre-construction permitting of various renewable energy projectsKEY TASKS/DUTIESClear understanding of federal, provincial and municipal legislation and policy related to permits for renewable energy projectsParticipate in reviews of various municipal planning documentsEngage with local and regional planning staff and Councils on project permitting requirements and applicationsManage permitting scope schedules and budgets for variety of projectsLiaise with project managers, construction, and operations teams to coordinate permitting worksOTHER DUTIESSupport delivery of proposals, permits, and other submissions such as Request for ProposalsPrepare and attend stakeholder and rightsholders engagement meetingsUnderstand and prepare reports on technical documents pertaining to renewable energy developmentUphold all aspects of Natural Forces health, safety & environmental policies and practicesEDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS2+ years experience in a similar rolePost-secondary degree with a background in planning, science, engineering or a related disciplineExperience in excel, database managementExperience with GIS software considered an assetSKILLS AND ABILITY REQUIREMENTSExcellent communicatorFacilitation and Presentation skillsGrowth mindset and problem-solving skillsStrong attention to detailAbility to initiate tasks independentlyWilling to travel and carry out remote site visitsOTHER INFORMATIONDiversity, equity, and inclusion are critical to our clean energy mission.
