Alberta Health Services, Central Zone, invites applications for a General Internal Medicine Physician to establish a part-time practice in the community of Camrose. This position will have a 0.5 FTE providing Inpatient Internal Medicine care as part of the St. Mary's Inpatient Care Team. This role will be a resource to other hospitalists providing Internal Medicine consultation for admitted patients. Other consultation may include preop assessments for general surgery/orthopedics, general consults and chronic disease management. The successful candidate will assume part of the workload of current physician, working one week/month. There is also the possibility of the successful candidate providing some outpatient care within the community. The inpatient role will be remunerated under the Hospitalist ARP.

Responsibilities include but not limited to:

  • Obtain and maintain an AHS Medical Staff Appointment and appropriate privileges to provide the Services;
  • Abide by the AHS Medical Staff Bylaws, the AHS Medical Staff Rules and AHS policies;
  • Participate in quality improvement programs and initiatives undertaken within the Zone Clinical Department of Internal Medicine;
  • Participate in relevant Continuing Medical Education (CME) programs;
  • Contribute to and participate in other administrative responsibilities, as assigned;
  • Work collaboratively with peers and care team colleagues in support of patient care.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Have or be eligible for licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Alberta (required with application);
  • Have or be eligible for certification with the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada Certification (RCPSC);
  • Have specialty certification or equivalent in Gastroenterology, or currently be enrolled in a Gastroenterology Residency Program.

  • Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada Certification (RCPSC) Internal Medicine.
