Siemens Depot360 AI is redefining the EV charging market for private and public fleets, including autonomous driving fleets, transit bus agencies, and municipal and private fleets.
We are building the next level of charging as a service, taking complete ownership and control of the charging infrastructure, the scheduling of the vehicles, the cloud platform, and the utility meter - in order to provide the highest availability and resilience in the market.
In this way, we will accelerate the adoption of electric-powered fleets by optimizing the delivery of power and making refueling seamless and efficient.
By taking control of the utility meter, and optimizing EV charge rate and vehicle process flow, EV CaaS provides the lowest cost of electric fueling possible.

What will you do?

Note - This is a 1 year contract employee opportunity with possibility of extension.

As Sr.
Software Developer, you'll have the opportunity to design, develop and own various aspects of the Depot360 solution.
You will operate alongside team members of the software development group, building new software features and exploring new ways of solving complex problems related to the electric vehicle domain.

Responsibilities:

• Develop and write code in Java or other object-oriented languages following the team's coding standards and development process.
• Provide reliable and quality design to a variety of complex problems and requirements using sound problem-solving techniques.
• Utilize software development tools such as IDEs, configuration management systems, build processes, etc.
  on a daily basis.
• Estimate level of effort, evaluate design options, offer suggestions and improve processes, and provide comments on software design aspects.
• Add value and collaborate with the team by participating in peer code reviews, providing comments and suggestions.
• Mentor junior developers to help them improve their coding practices.
• Be a valued member of an autonomous, cross-functional agile team.

This is a REMOTE position based anywhere in Canada.

What will you need to succeed?

• University Degree or College Diploma in Computer Science, Computer Programming or equivalent experience.
• Minimum 8 years' experience in software development.
• Minimum 5 years' experience with Java-based web development and Spring framework.
• Experience with stream processing technologies such as Kafka.
• Experience with caching technologies such as Redis.
• Experience with web services and Service-Oriented Architecture.
• Experience with SQL databases including Postgres.
• Experience with Agile Software Development process.
• Full product/software development lifecycle experience.
• Excellent Technical troubleshooter.
• Strong verbal & written communication skills in English.
