Edmonton, Alberta, Canada Role OverviewThe Global Sales Director, Mining will lead the company's global sales efforts, driving revenue growth, building strong client relationships, and expanding market share in the mining industry.
This senior leadership role requires a strategic thinker with expertise in global markets, exceptional leadership skills, and a solid understanding of the mining sector.
The ideal candidate will have sales experience and strong networking capabilities, the ability to drive business growth and to manage complex client relationships on a global scale.

Key Responsibilities1.
Market Expansion & Business DevelopmentIdentify and pursue opportunities in emerging and under-served markets.Forge strategic partnerships with local distributors, government entities, and industry players.Lead initiatives on mergers and acquisitions to strengthen market position.2.
Sales Strategy & ExecutionDevelop and manage global sales plans, budgets, and forecasts.Set regional sales targets and oversee their execution.Establish competitive and profitable pricing strategies tailored to various markets.Lead, mentor, and motivate a diverse global sales team.Monitor and evaluate sales performance using key performance indicators (KPIs).3.
Customer Relationship Management (CRM)Build and maintain strong relationships with high-value clients, including industrial buyers, government stakeholders, and supply chain partners.Oversee account management to ensure customer satisfaction and long-term loyalty.Drive initiatives to enhance customer satisfaction and retention.4.
Product Knowledge & Market IntelligenceStay informed on global commodity prices, industry trends, and customer needs.Conduct competitor analysis and adjust strategies to maintain a competitive edge.Provide feedback to the product development team based on market insights.5.
Cross-Departmental CollaborationCollaborate with operations and production teams to align sales with output capabilities and logistics.Partner with the finance team to manage contracts and ensure profitability.Work with marketing to align campaigns with sales strategies and effectively communicate value propositions.6.
Global Compliance & Risk ManagementEnsure compliance with local regulations and environmental standards in all operating regions.Identify and mitigate geopolitical, financial, and operational risks in international markets.7.
Sustainability and Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR)Develop sales strategies that highlight the company's commitment to sustainable mining practices.Engage in social initiatives that enhance the company's reputation within local communities.8.
Technology Integration and Digital Sales ToolsDrive digital transformation by implementing technologies to streamline sales processes and enhance customer engagement.Optimize the use of CRM software to manage global sales performance and customer interactions.QualificationsProven track record in a senior sales leadership role within the mining or related industry.Strong understanding of global markets, mining technology, and commodity pricing.Demonstrated success in driving revenue growth and managing diverse international sales teams.Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.Strategic mindset with the ability to adapt to dynamic and complex global environments.Familiarity with CRM systems and digital tools for sales management.Preferred AttributesExperience in sustainability initiatives and CSR in the mining industry.Multilingual abilities and cultural awareness to navigate global markets effectively.
