Job Title: Technical Production Analyst Support Analyst

Location: Montreal, QC

Institutional Securities Technology (IST) develops and oversees the overall technology strategy and bespoke technology solutions to drive and enable the institutional businesses and enterprise-wide functions. Our clients include Fixed Income, Equities, Commodities, Investment Banking, Research, and Global Capital Markets.

Position Description:

We are looking for a Technical Production Analyst Support Analyst who:

Responsibilities:

Work closely with engineering/development teams to handle problem management, design, build, and maintain systems.
Troubleshoot issues across the entire stack: hardware, software, application, and network.
Mentor team members on best practices for monitoring and troubleshooting.
Identify and drive opportunities to improve automation for deployment, management, and visibility of services.
Lead the production support team and drive SRE improvements for system stability.
Represent the RPE organization in application design reviews and operational readiness exercises.
Participate in weekend and off-hours on-call rotation and act as the point of escalation during critical incidents.

Qualifications:

Skills Required:

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related technology field.
1-3 years of practical experience in production support or a similar role.
Knowledge of ITIL principles and SDLC.
Knowledge of Agile development practices.
Understanding of finance to communicate effectively with business clients and stakeholders.
Proficiency in UNIX/Linux operating system concepts.
Hands-on experience with PL/SQL, Shell Scripting, Python, Perl.
Knowledge of MongoDB, NoSQL DB, alerting tools, monitoring tools, and ticketing services.
Expert-level knowledge in SQL Server, Sybase, and DB2.
Familiarity with scheduling tools such as AutoSys, Crontab, Control-M.
Experience with Informatica ETL.
Ability to thrive in a high-pressure environment and tackle new challenges.

Skills Desired:

Knowledge and experience in the banking industry.
Experience with source code and binary repositories, build tools, and CI/CD (Git, Artifactory, Jenkins, Docker) and data streaming technologies like Spark, Kafka.
Experience with automation/configuration management systems like Puppet, Chef, Ansible.
Hands-on experience with enterprise tools such as Grafana, Dynatrace, AppDynamics, and BMC.
Experience in software development, particularly automation-related experience.
Proficiency in scripting languages (bash, python) and compiled languages (C, C#, JAVA, Scala, Go).
Awareness of modern software and systems architectures, including load-balancing, queuing, caching, and microservices.
Practical experience running large-scale online systems.
