Partnering with some of the industry's biggest studios, Retrokid has seen incredible success merchandising classic brands including Sesame Street, Fraggle Rock, and The Flintstones, and has become the leading partner to re-establish forgotten brands like The Big Comfy Couch, Nanalan, and Arthur.

With a focus on elevating streetwear through premium apparel and accessories, Retrokid is poised to change the landscape with expansion into studio collaborations, live events, extended product lines, and pop-up experiences.


We are seeking a Marketing Manager to lead a transformative change within our organization by bringing strategic go-to market planning and wildly creative, on-brand copy to all product launches.
As our Marketing Manager you are an exceptional storyteller who understands the importance of effective marketing, turning a good product campaign in to something extraordinary and memorable.
Working with the Sales and Product Team, you will lead the go-to market strategy for all licensed and private label products including events and promotions through all verticals within the company.

As a company with white-hot growth in the pop culture industry, it will be critical for this role to thrive in a fast-paced, start-up environment with minimal supervision.
We're looking for someone who's not afraid to step outside the box and challenge the status quo while maintaining outstanding relationships with all internal and external partners.
From licensed apparel and collectibles, to live events and experiences, your role will be to ensure we create the best memories possible for our customers, partners, and stakeholders.

As the Marketing Manager , you will report directly to the Founder and CEO, in addition to working alongside additional departments.
Each department will look to you for both guidance and understanding of their requirements and timelines based on your marketing campaign.
As this is a newly formed role, you will be creating both short and long tail marketing plans, promotional offers, SOPs, new processes and workflows, from the ground-up.

It's equally important that our staff live and breathe our industry, meaning a deep understanding of pop culture, specifically 80s, 90s, 00s television, movies and music, is of vital importance to this role.

Responsibilities:

  • Plan, develop, and execute marketing campaigns for all product launches, promotional activities and event experiences.
  • Lead the go-to market strategy delivering on all deadlines, deliverables, and creative.
  • Champion all marketing channels:
    e-mail, social media, META ads, and events.
  • Manage and monitor all company socials, both IG and FB, creating a content schedule that is on-brand and aligned with company objectives and voice.
  • Work with the Sales and Product team to conceptualize promotional activities to maximize revenue, i.e.
    Free Shipping Fridays, Black Friday, Retrokid Club.
  • Manage external marketing agency to ensure proper deployment of all campaigns in addition to managing monthly paid marketing budgets.
  • Write and/or approve marketing copy to ensure a consistent voice across all communications.
  • Coordinate all imagery, including photoshoots and product images, from concept to post.
  • Development of key presentation decks, asset creation, and collection lookbooks.
  • Collaborate with other internal teams (Product, Sales, Design, Operations) to conceptualize, deploy and monitor, strategic marketing initiatives.
  • Set KPI's for marketing, social, and email channels.
  • Manage all talent, influencers and celebrity endorsements to maximize brand reach.
  • Work alongside Operations to create a loyalty rewards program to elevate our customer experience.
  • Support all external event experiences and live activations (Comic Con, Pop-ups, etc.).
  • Additional tasks as necessary.

Requirements:

  • 3-5 years' experience in a marketing role and/or go-to market strategy.
  • 3-5 years' experience in social media management.
  • 1-2 years' experience in design, photography and creative development is an asset.
  • Strong ability to manage multiple projects concurrently while maintaining attention to detail and organization.
  • Thrives in a fast-paced environment with full accountability and minimal supervision.
  • Creative thinker with ability to bring those ideas to life through clear, strategic plans.
  • Advanced familiarity of current and nostalgic pop culture including TV, movies, video games, toys, and events.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
  • Experience and familiarity with Excel and Office for administration.
  • Experience and familiarity with Adobe platforms or Canva for creative.
  • Valid passport with the ability to travel throughout North America.
  • Valid G license and access to a vehicle on a weekly basis (in-person team meetings).
  • Availability to respond to issues and crises outside typical business hours.
