We work with the best architects, engineers, and construction professionals in the industry to ensure that every project reflects our commitment to excellence and value.About the Role We are seeking a highly experienced and visionary Director of Construction to lead all aspects of our construction operations and drive the successful execution of multifamily residential projects, including concrete high-rises and wood-frame developments.
Reporting directly to the CEO, you will oversee project planning, execution, quality assurance, and safety, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest standards.This role offers an exciting opportunity to work with a passionate team, make a lasting impact, and contribute to the future of Square Nine Developments as a leader in the real estate industry.Key ResponsibilitiesStrategic Leadership:
Provide strategic oversight for all construction projects, from concept to completion, aligning with the company's vision and goals.Lead and mentor project management and site teams, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and accountability.Project Planning and Execution:
Develop comprehensive project plans, including detailed schedules, budgets, and risk mitigation strategies.Oversee the successful execution of all projects, ensuring quality control, timely delivery, and adherence to project specifications.Team and Stakeholder Management:
Lead on-site construction teams, including subcontractors, laborers, and suppliers, ensuring seamless coordination and performance.Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, architects, engineers, and other stakeholders, providing regular updates and addressing issues proactively.Budget and Cost Control:
Manage project budgets, including cost estimation, financial tracking, and expense management, ensuring cost-efficiency without compromising quality.Review and negotiate contracts with subcontractors and suppliers and approve invoices and change orders.Quality and Safety Assurance:
Promote and enforce a culture of safety, implementing safety protocols and conducting regular audits to maintain a hazard-free work environment.Ensure all projects meet or exceed quality standards and comply with regulatory requirements.Innovation and Process Improvement:
Identify opportunities for process improvements and innovative solutions to enhance efficiency, quality, and sustainability in construction operations.Qualifications 10+ years of proven experience in senior leadership roles within the construction industry, preferably with a developer-builder or general contractor.Extensive knowledge of pre-construction, construction management, building materials, city regulations, and project management principles.Expertise in managing multifamily residential projects, including concrete high-rises and wood-frame developments.Strong leadership and team-building skills, with a track record of fostering high-performing teams.Exceptional planning, scheduling, and budgeting abilities, with a focus on delivering projects on time and within budget.Skilled in contract negotiation and risk management.Proficiency in construction management software and tools.Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with diverse stakeholders.Post-secondary degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field.
