New Value Solutions, a national IT consulting company is seeking a Solutions Architect to create a secure and compliant framework for data sharing among various organizations.
This framework will enable collaboration without the need for physical data transfers.
The role also involves modernizing data warehouses by implementing cloud technologies to meet growing data demands.
The objective is to provide timely, accurate, and near-real-time data access to improve decision-making across the province.Project Specifications:
Federated Data Lakehouse with Microsoft Fabric and Databricks:
This PoC uses a hybrid model to test a federated data lakehouse environment, leveraging Microsoft Fabric and Databricks for secure data access and collaboration.Role-Based Access and Security Framework:
Establishes role-based access controls (RBAC) and auditing mechanisms to comply with healthcare data regulations and streamline data access securely.Data Cataloging and Metadata Management:
Implements tools for data cataloging and lineage tracking, enhancing data discoverability and governance.
A metadata management solution spans all organizations, supporting both technical and business data visibility.Pilot Testing with Fake Data:
Uses curated, de-identified fake data to simulate real-world data sharing, ensuring that data handling standards are met before implementing on live data.Responsibilities:
Extract and Transform Healthcare Data:
Apply industry best practices in data transformation and modelling techniques, ensuring validated, accurate, and reliable outputs for use by downstream data teams and stakeholders.Enhance platforms using modern tools and technologies:
Lead development initiatives to enhance healthcare data platform and operations by adopting the latest technologies, including Azure, Fabric, Databrick ensuring alignment with BC health authority standards and priorities.Collaborate with the team for Healthcare Solutions:
Collaborate with programs and maintain flexibility on domain ownership as business priorities evolve.Collaborate Across Teams and Adapt to Evolving Needs:
Work with other data teams within Island Health on understanding data products and providing guidance and support during implementation and onboarding.
Requirements:
7+ years of experience as a Solutions Architect.2+ years of experience working with data, focusing on data transformation and modelling.Extensive experience Microsoft Azure, Datalakes, Microsoft Fabric and Databricks architecture particularly within healthcare and public sector environments.
Hands-on experience working with Azure, Databricks, and Microsoft Fabric.Strong proficiency in building ETL/ELT pipelines and working with large healthcare datasets.Expertise in SQL and at least one programming language such as Python or Scala.Familiarity with data modelling techniques and validation processes.Experience in cloud architecture design and data migration to platforms like Azure.Knowledge of healthcare regulatory standards (e.g., HITRUST, FHIR) and experience ensuring data governance compliance.Practical knowledge of Microsoft Purview for data security and privacy management.Minimum Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering, or a related field.If you have this expertise, and are able to work in Canada, please submit your resume.
