The Job:

Are you an experienced financial professional passionate about delivering tailored wealth solutions to high-net-worth clients? We are seeking a Senior Wealth Associate to join our dynamic team. This role is ideal for a seasoned expert with a strong background in financial planning, tax optimization, and estate planning, especially for corporate clients.

As a key member of our Planning department, you will work closely with advisors and clients to develop comprehensive strategies that align personal and corporate financial goals. With your technical expertise, strategic mindset, and client-focused approach, you will play a pivotal role in fostering long-term relationships and driving exceptional results in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

Day in the Life:

  1. Design and implement sophisticated financial strategies, including tax optimization, wealth preservation, and succession planning for high-net-worth clients.
  2. Provide tailored tax planning solutions for business owners, incorporating income splitting, capital gains strategies, and corporate structures like holding companies.
  3. Develop and execute strategies for smooth ownership transitions, including buy-sell agreements and family business continuity plans.
  4. Collaborate with accounting and legal professionals to structure trusts, wills, and estate plans to maximize wealth transfer and minimize tax implications.
  5. Provide holistic financial strategies that align business finances with personal financial goals.
  6. Serve as a key point of contact for high-net-worth corporate and individual clients, addressing unique financial planning needs.
  7. Work closely with accountants, lawyers, and other professionals to deliver integrated financial and legal solutions.
  8. Ensure all financial plans and strategies comply with Canadian tax laws, BC regulations, and fiduciary standards.
  9. Help lead discussions on complex financial concepts, ensuring clients understand their options and decisions.
  10. Identify growth opportunities within the client segment and mentor junior team members in advanced planning techniques.
  11. Stay informed of emerging trends, legislative changes, and industry best practices to enhance service offerings and maintain expertise.

Who you are:

  1. Deep understanding of Canadian and BC tax laws, including corporate tax structures, capital gains, and estate taxation.
  2. Expertise in designing multi-generational wealth transfer strategies.
  3. Strong grasp of business structures, succession planning, and integrating corporate and personal financial strategies.
  4. Familiarity with fiduciary responsibilities and adherence to all relevant laws and standards.
  5. Ability to simplify and convey complex financial concepts in a relatable manner to diverse audiences.
  6. Skill in building and maintaining trust with high-net-worth corporate clients, including family businesses and executives.
  7. Focused on crafting tailored solutions that align with unique client goals and challenges.
  8. Empathy and discretion when handling sensitive topics such as succession, legacy, and family dynamics.
  9. Analytical mindset to devise innovative solutions for complex financial scenarios.
  10. Capability to anticipate long-term trends and proactively adapt strategies for clients.
  11. Ability to guide junior team members, share knowledge, and inspire team collaboration.
  12. Strong connections with accountants, lawyers, and other professionals to facilitate comprehensive client service.
  13. Commitment to ethical practices and prioritizing client interests above all.
  14. Meticulous approach to planning, ensuring accuracy in every aspect of the financial process.
  15. Flexibility to adjust strategies in response to regulatory changes or shifting client priorities.
  16. Determination to manage high-pressure situations while maintaining a focus on achieving client goals.

Must-haves:

  • 7+ years' experience working in a similar role.
  • CFP, CFA, TEP, CPA, LLQP or CIM credentials.
  • Experience working with high-net-worth clients, specifically corporate clients.
  • Experience working in small to medium sized wealth management firm.
  • Bachelor's Degree in related field such as Finance, Commerce or Economics.
  • Proficiency with financial planning software, CRM systems, and portfolio management tools.
  • Strong command of MS 365, specifically Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Excellent spoken and written communication skills.
  • Highly organized and attentive to details.
  • Tech savvy and enjoy learning new systems.

Nice-to-haves:

  • Experience working for a discretionary portfolio manager is strongly preferred.
  • Experience working with Conquest Planning Software is strongly preferred.
  • Experience with Salesforce CRM is strongly preferred.

The Package:

  • Competitive base salary:
    $90,000. 00 - 140,000. 00 + per annum.
