Role Summary

As a Layout Designer at Eclipse Awards, your primary daily responsibility will be to create time-sensitive, custom award layouts that incorporate client-supplied logos, graphics, and personalization details. Flex your typography skills as you consider each client's brand and design a cohesive theme for their awards. Our designs set us apart, and we aim for classic and timeless designs that will look great for years to come!

Key Responsibilities

Design layouts for awards and plaques using client supplied logos, brand assets, stock graphics, and personalization details
Communicating with clients by emailing artwork proofs, implementing feedback accurately and promptly, and securing artwork approvals in a timely manner
Prepare production files necessary for manufacturing processes, including Sandblasting, Laser Engraving, and UV printing (training will be provided)
Learn the artwork strengths and limitations of each production method to effectively guide clients in their design choices
Assist the art department with additional tasks such as photo editing and creating social media and website graphics
Collaborate with our internal teams to ensure designs align with client expectations and production capabilities
Conduct quality checks on artwork files to ensure accuracy before production
Maintain our digital filing system for all design files and client communications
Demonstrate a positive attitude and a willingness to go the extra mile to ensure client satisfaction.

Required Skills

Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign) with a minimum of 1-2 years of professional experience
Very well-organized and extremely attentive to details
A good sense of aesthetics with the ability to visualize shapes and layouts
Strong typography skills plus knowledge of fonts and layout design
Fluent written and verbal communication skills
Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines while maintaining high standards
Resourceful and self-motivated, with the ability to work independently
A positive attitude toward teamwork and collaboration

Helpful Skills

Experience with product photography
Familiarity with social media platforms (Facebook, Pinterest, Instagram, TikTok)
Familiarity with customer reputation management software

Resourceful: able to quickly diagnose problems and offer effective solutions
Professional: punctual, reliable, responsible and self-motivated
Flexible: willing to accept other tasks, duties, and responsibilities as required
Process-oriented: with a focus on details, precision and accuracy

Compensation & Details

This is a full-time, on-site position commencing immediately
Starting pay is $22/hour during a 3-month training, increasing to $25/hour plus benefits upon full time employment
