Fixed-Wing Search & Rescue Instructor Pilot

CAE is seeking instructors to join the CAE team at 19 Wing Comox to train Canada's next generation of Fixed-Wing Search & Rescue (FWSAR) aircrew.

Responsibilities include:

• Working independently and responding to a broad scope of customer requirements to achieve team goals;
• Effectively delivering academic presentations to customers;
• Conducting Servicing and Elementary Work training;
• Delivering pilot training programs incorporating academic/theory instruction and synthetic environments such as flight simulators and other ground-based training devices;
• Contributing to the development of courseware and teaching aids;
• Ensuring that training programs are consistent with training objectives and teaching points as specified in the applicable Training Plan and Quality Standard;
• Assessing, documenting, and reporting student progress, issues and deficiencies relative to course delivery;
• Providing oral and written ACSO and AESOP Subject Matter Expertise (SME) support to the program and Training Centre team as required;
• Compiling student training progress and course debrief reports;
• Occasional travel in support of CAE projects including overtime as required.

Mandatory qualifications include:

• Eligibility to work in Canada either as a Canadian Citizen, a Permanent Resident or with a valid Work Permit;
• Capable of obtaining and maintaining both a Controlled Goods Clearance and a Government of Canada Level II security clearance;
• Experience as a multi-engine, fixed-wing pilot;
• Experience as a Qualified Flight Instructor or Instructor Pilot;
• Superior interpersonal and communication skills;
• Physically able to work in confined spaces such as flight training devices.

Desirable qualifications and experience:

• Experience as a Search & Rescue pilot;
• Familiar with Quality Standards, Training Plans and training media used to ensure Teaching Points are met per Training Standards;
• Experience with authoring and amending multi-media instructional courseware;
• Verbal French language skills suitable to instruct in French;
• Airbus 295 aircraft experience.

CAD $116,000 to CAD $174,000
