California Closets British Columbia is a growing franchise with plenty of room for advancement! We are currently hiring for the position of Okanagan Mini-Shop & Installation Technician in Kelowna.

The Okanagan Mini-Shop & Installation Technician is a versatile position, dividing time between our Mini-Shop (Save Centre) operations and on-site installations (approx. 50/50). Based in our advanced Kelowna facility, this role supports high-quality production and exceptional client service. Reporting to the Operations Manager or the CC Okanagan Installation Team Lead, this position requires quality control, efficiency, and excellent customer service. The position also requires attention to detail, proficiency with woodworking machinery, and a commitment to the California Closets Credo.

Qualifications

Roles:

Mini-Shop (Save Centre) Responsibilities (Approx. 50%)
- Operate and maintain woodworking machinery (Edgebander, CNC drilling machine, table saw amongst others), following quality and safety standards.
- Sort, organize, and prepare materials for shipment, ensuring precision and readiness.
- Perform quality control, verifying dimensions and accuracy of components.
- Communicate with installation technicians to coordinate the delivery of components to job sites as required.
- Keep work areas clean, safe, and organized, promoting efficient workflows.
- Proactively communicate with the team about inventory, job conditions, and potential issues.
Installation Responsibilities (Approx. 50%)
- Assist in installing California Closets custom storage systems, ensuring client satisfaction.
- Support lead installers with material preparation, tool setup, and assembly.
- Work up the 'CC Installation Skills Ladder.'

Goals:

Quality & Productivity Goals
- Complete 100% of assigned Mini-Shop (Save Centre) tasks.
- Hit all monthly installation targets.
- Master all Mini-Shop (Save Centre) workstations to maintain flexibility.
- Meet productivity standards in installations and support company-wide performance targets.
Customer Satisfaction Goals
- Understand and practice the 'California Closets Credo.'
- Deliver a top-quality California Closets Professional Installation Experience (CCPIE).
- Contribute to team goals to reduce go-back rates (less than 20% go-backs) and high-quality installations (greater than 80% of all jobs completed on the date and time promised to the customer).

Safety & Maintenance Goals
- Ensure machinery is maintained and functions at optimal levels.
- Follow safety protocols and maintain a secure work environment for all team members; California Closets follows all WorkSafe BC regulations.

Expectations:

Skill Requirements
- Table saw proficiency (2+ years) is required.
- Experience with CNC drilling machine and Edgebander (1+ year) is a significant asset.
- Installation tools (drills, jigsaws) experience is beneficial but not required as training will be provided.
- Forklift experience preferred; if not already certified, training must be completed within the first few weeks.
Availability & Flexibility
- Full-time, 5 days per week, 40 hours, with occasional overtime as required.
- Flexibility to move between Mini-Shop (Save Centre) and installation tasks as needed.
Professionalism
- Demonstrate reliability, strong attendance, and punctuality.

Skills Development & Certification
- Participate in training sessions and obtain certifications as required to maintain proficiency.
