Practice Details:

We are recruiting a full time general Hematologist to join our team in Kelowna.
This position is quite unique with respect to the flexibility it offers:
daytime hours/vacation allocation and potential for hybrid home office/clinic work.
There is a large catchment area serviced by the Hematology Department - we are responsible for the referral population of approximately 1,000,000.
The position is challenging with a focus on collegiality and team wellness. The work-life balance is paramount to the retention of our group so looking for someone who is willing to do 1 in 4 rotation for consults/outside call coverage (weekday time only) - this is a team approach that gives everyone ample time to focus on family and lifestyle.
The successful candidate will have a flexible, growth minded vision and excellent consultative hematology skills. We do both benign and malignant - this is not a niche role so looking to find a candidate who will embrace the full scope of Hematology work, including chemotherapy privileges at our BC Cancer Center, which is attached to the KGH.
We are passionate about what we do and work closely with our team of skilled and dedicated health care professionals, support staff, and physicians.
Our affiliation with the University of British Columbia (UBC) creates an opportunity for teaching new grads and residents if that appeals to you. This is an opportunity, but not a pre-requisite.

Qualifications:

Eligible for Fellowship with the Royal College of Physicians of Canada (FRCPC)
Eligible for licensure with CPSBC; Coverage with the Canadian Medical Protective Association is mandatory.
