• Skills in image guided biopsy and drainage including CT, Ultrasound and Fluoroscopy-guided procedures

• Current College of Physicians and Surgeons of British Columbia (CPSBC) License
• Full Canadian Medical Protective Association (CMPA) Mandatory
• Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians of Canada (FRCPC) Mandatory
Role and Facility Information
Kelowna General Hospital (KGH) is one of two tertiary hospitals within Interior Health and is the region's main referral centre offering a full range of services with approximately 400 beds and over 84,000 ED visits yearly. KGH is home to the Interior Heart & Surgical Centre (IHSC) which opened in 2015 and is BC's only cardiac critical care centre outside of Victoria and the Lower Mainland. IHSC features 12 specialized Operating Rooms created for various surgeries with 2 ORs dedicated to Cardiac Surgery.
At the hospital, we have 3 CT scanners, one MRI (current department expansion underway with 2 new MRI units coming), a brand new interventional fluoroscopy suite, digital mammography, and a PET scanner (located at adjacent BCCA). Our procedural requirements for our diagnostic radiologists are predominantly biopsies and drainages. All vascular intervention, nephrostomy tubes, and complex biliary work are handled by the IR team.
