Position Summary

The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) is a member of an interdisciplinary team that provides medical care, recovery therapies, and everyday care and support to clients in Detox and addictions residential treatment.

The LPN provides nursing care to clients, administers medications according to organizational and pharmaceutical policies, and supports the Nursing Team and Physician as directed.

Duties and Responsibilities

Clinical nursing assessments during patient intake and discharge process.
Gathering of medical, mental health, and substance use history.
Collection of urine for substance screening, HCG testing, or urinalysis.
Administration of breathalyzer test.
Nursing care and interventions, vital sign monitoring, and medication administration for patients during medically supervised detox process.
Nursing care, interventions, and monitoring of acute or chronic conditions, administering scheduled and PRN medications.
Perform First Aid; respond to acute emergent situations and administer emergency medications.
Document nursing assessments, care, behaviors, and progress in electronic medical record system.
Communicate with physician regarding medical concerns, medication orders, and patient progress.
Schedule and document physician and Lab appointments.
Weekly medication and medical supply order.

Experience and Qualifications

Valid and Current LPN License with the College of Nurses of British Columbia.
Trauma-informed training/experience an asset.
Ability to read, write, communicate verbally and in writing.
Ability to understand and follow directions.
Good hearing and eyesight.
Valid First Aid/CPR Level C.
Clear Criminal record check through the Ministry of Justice.
Valid Class 5 Drivers License in good standing.

Estimated salary: $90,000 - $110,000 per year.
