PRIMARY ROLE

The Intermediate Buyer is primarily responsible for the sourcing and purchasing of materials, equipment and services for a variety of clients and projects within the Oil and Gas industry. Duties will include complete RFx management, Purchase Order (PO) development/issuance as well as post PO coordination. A key requirement includes regular project stakeholder updates and reporting.

RESPONSIBILITIES & KEY TASKS

Managing the execution of complete RFx lifecycle for materials, equipment and services including RFx development, Bid, Evaluations and Award.
Understanding and adhering to a variety of client Supply Chain processes and procedures.
Constant and direct communication with vendors, suppliers and contractors.
Post-PO management including vendor monitoring, invoice management and attestation.
Providing timely and accurate updates to internal and external project teams.
Ensuring proper documentation and accurate record keeping and coordinating timely flow of information between all internal and external stakeholders.
Maintaining good relationships with Suppliers.
Conducting supplier evaluations.
Maintaining positive relationships with internal and external departments.
Ensuring all applicable codes and standards (both legislated and customer-specific) are being met.
Other general project support tasks to complete work as required or directed by internal or external project teams.

ACCOUNTABILITIES

The Intermediate Buyer influences decisions regarding the sourcing of equipment and materials, and related logistics, including supplier and bid evaluation and selection.
Ethical and professional execution of the complete RFx life-cycle
Ensuring the best possible value in conjunction with optimized delivery in purchasing activities with a customer-based approach.
Attending to internal and external Supply Chain requirements in a timely manner.
Ensuring a safe workplace environment in adherence to company and legislated safety standards.

EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS

Post-Secondary Education / Designation Supplementary Educational Needs:

Certificate or Diploma in Purchasing or Business Administration Program

EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

10+ years' experience within the Supply Chain environment of increasing scope of responsibility, preferably within the Oil and Gas industry.
Direct experience working within an EPC or EPCM environment is required.
Direct experience and/or exposure to Owner/Client Supply Chain processes and procedures would be an asset.

KNOWLEDGE BASE REQUIREMENTS

Very strong verbal and written communication skills.
Comfortable communicating with vendors, supplies, clients, peers and contractors.
Application of Supply Chain practices and processes within the Oil and Gas industry.
Understanding and exposure to various clients' Supply Chain processes and procedures.
Exposure, usage and knowledge of a variety of client-based Supply Chain platforms including, but not limited to: SAP, OpenInvoice, ERP, Power BI, SharePoint, Comply Works, Ariba.
Exceptional attention to detail and ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
Problem solving and decision-making skills with a customer focused outlook.
Knowledge of Microsoft suite software and Internet applications
Proven organizational and time management skills.
Comfortable working within a fast-paced project environment with the ability to work on several different projects simultaneously.
Knowledge of, and ability to comply with, standards and procedures within Tridyne Health & Safety Manual and Occupational Health and Safety Regulations.

Immediate availability is also an asset.
