Surge is currently accepting applications for the position of Human Resources Advisor.
We are seeking a friendly and detail-oriented HR professional to contribute to the fast-paced Surge Energy team in a generalist role.
The successful candidate will be responsible for semi-monthly payroll, benefits administration, recruitment, onboarding, offboarding, and working with the team to develop HR programs, policies and training.

Key Responsibilities:

• Full cycle recruitment for technical and non-technical roles, including drafting position descriptions, posting to job boards, resume review, pre-screens, in-person interviews and reference checks.
• Run semi-monthly payroll in ADP Workforce Now.
• Benefits administration in SunLife including enrollments, employee changes and offboarding.
• Completion of industry surveys; as well as data analysis and interpretation of results.
  
• Maintain and upgrade ADP Workforce Now, to ensure processes are efficient, problems are solved in a timely manner and system improvements and enhancements are implemented.
  
• Create and maintain strong working relationships with employees, managers and executive, with a customer-service approach to employee relations.
  
• Assist with the improvement, development and implementation of HR policies and procedures.
• Support key HR programs including performance management, talent development, training & development, and compensation.
• Prepare a variety of HR documentation, communication, and reports.
  
• Attend industry events, courses, and webinars to ensure Surge is at the forefront of HR and industry trends, common practices and gather data to ensure the Company maintains it's competitive advantage as it relates to HR initiatives such as benefits, compensation and perks.

Qualifications:

• Two or more years of experience as a Human Resources Generalist, Coordinator, Advisor or similar role preferred, experience in Oil and Gas considered an asset
• High level of attention to detail and accuracy is essential
• A Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Commerce or similar is ideal
• Experience with ADP Workforce Now is a strong asset
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills is crucial
• Knowledge of Alberta Employment Standards, Human Rights and industry best practices is important
• The ability to organize workload and manage multiple tasks effectively is critical to success
• Strong computer skills, and a high level of proficiency in Excel is essential
