Surge is currently accepting applications for the full-time position of Geophysicist.
This position will report to the Manager, Geosciences and will be an integral member of the asset teams focused on many of Surge's properties.
This position will work with interdisciplinary teams responsible for fully exploiting and optimizing existing oil producing horizons and identifying new oil opportunities.
Key deliverables for the Geophysicist will be evaluating and recommending various geophysical strategies across Surge's asset base.

Responsibilities include, but not limited to:

Work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment to openly and constructively articulate and promote ideas, particularly with the asset teams and senior management
Project work will focus on advanced seismic interpretation, geophysical mapping with a strong emphasis on the integration of geological data
Provide recommendations on potential drilling opportunities
Assist in well planning, field development planning and well completion design and strategy
Provide support for, and evaluate area-specific A&D opportunities

Qualifications:

A Bachelor of Science in Geophysics
APEGA registered Professional Geophysicist with 10+ years of interpretation experience, a focus on Carbonates and SE Sask preferred
Highly technical background with extensive seismic interpretation and geophysics workstation experience; strong seismic data processing and acquisition knowledge is required
Experience with horizontal, multi-frac wells
Expert knowledge of Seisware and GeoSyn and strong GeoScout and Microsoft Office skills
Self-directed with the ability to prioritize and organize tasks and projects while demonstrating hands-on accountability for work.
