About the Role
Reporting to the Manager, Resource Planning, the Finance Business Partner (FBP) provides expert knowledge and advice, supporting financial business needs of designated units. This position is a full-time role, working 35 hours per week.

Responsibilities

DECISION SUPPORT:

Support strategic and operational decision making by developing financial analysis and reports.
Analyze and compile data to support decision making related to operating performance.
Recommend changes to significant financial projections impacting the institutional financial position.
Collaborate with stakeholders to assess business process needs and recommend improvements.

REPORTING:

Support client areas in financial planning and reporting of results.
Monitor changes in accounting standards to ensure compliance.
Provide complex financial information to internal and external users.

SUPPORT and TRAINING:

Provide expert advice and training on financial management and reporting.
Support preparation of audit-ready financial statements.
Advise on information systems implementation projects.

REGULATORY COMPLIANCE:

Provide expertise on the interpretation of internal controls and compliance with regulations.
Monitor compliance gaps to ensure limited impact to University operations.

Qualifications

University Bachelor Degree
Chartered Professional Accountant Designation (CPA)
6 - 10+ years' experience
Strong analytical, organizational, and problem resolution skills
Excellent financial accounting and budgeting skills
Strong interpersonal and communication skills
Experience with Microsoft Office products, particularly Excel

What We Offer
Mount Royal University offers a competitive compensation package including health and dental benefits, pension, and paid vacation.

Salary: $96,859-110,500 per annum
